On the surface it sounded like Mac made the trade for draft picks, but could he have been doing to get draft capital for a trade According to The Athletic: "• On Thursday, TSN’s Darren Dreger reported that Jakob Chychrun is “a player of interest” for the Caps. It’s unclear if MacLellan is willing to meet the Coyotes’ asking price, but Chychrun is exactly the type of player MacLellan hopes to add in the coming days, I’m told by a league source. The 24-year-old defenseman has two years remaining on his contract at $4.6 million per, and could play a big role going forward."
Later Dan talks about a conversation between GM Brian Maclellan and Alex Ovechkin about the trade of Dimitry Orlov and Garnet Hathaway. But there's also rumors of the team seeking Ovi's blessing for a rebuild.
In the final segment Dan talks about the Capitals games this weekend which saw the Caps pick up a big win against the Ranger but totally fall on their face against the Sabres
