The first major transit of 2024 occurs on New Year’s Day 1/1/24 @ 10:08 pm ET when retrograde Mercury transits direct in Sagittarius.  Although, Mercurial madness made messes with holiday travel, the New Year launches us back to business, boosted by Mars transiting into hard working Capricorn on January 4.  The holiday fun and festivities fade away as of Mars, Mercury and Venus, leave sassy Sag, and transit into Capricorn respectively on Jan 4, 14 and 23rd.  The vacation feels like a brief respite as Mars momentum focuses on work, postponing play for a later day.  Mercury moves into Capricorn on 1/14, joined by Venus, on 1/23. January starts with Sagittarian fires burning brightly, fueling future goals and lighting inspirations.  By mid-month there is a drastic shift from the hopeful, inspiring, visionary Venusian view in Sag, to practical, serious, business minded Capricornian energies working hard to things done. It may be a sobering slide in early January from expansive and optimistic Sagittarius planets into somber and realistic Capricorn.
