How do you keep moving forward when the world seems to be caving in? How do you form habits for your future when everything seems so uncertain? How do you rise from adversity to strength?
Friends, today's episode is powerful. It's the episode I recorded because it’s the episode I needed to hear.
I'm joined by one of my best friends, leadership expert, and a picture of strength- Jo Saxton. We get raw, real, and share what we are both feeling during this unique time in history and how it's impacted us personally.
We talk about adversity and how we can find faith and strength in the hardest times. Jo shares how suffering can uncover your calling, the role of innovation when the world's upside down, finding new ways to serve, and how to stay consistent with your calling when you want to quit.
We also chat about:
-How to be honest about your feelings, but not let fear overtake you.
-The difference between trying and training.
-Why you should give yourself permission to do things badly right now.
Favorite quotes:
1. In this moment in our history, we really need to be unwrapping those gifts because they're not just about us. They're for human flourishing. They’re for the solution to the world's problems from a gracious and good God.
2. That scenario is familiar in terms of uncertainty and tragedy and pain. And what do we do in this moment? And will we be immobilized by the moment or will it be an opportunity? Can God do something with this and cause us to rise.
3. Feel your feelings because feelings aren’t the opposite of faith. Feel your feelings. Grieve the grief. You need to acknowledge them so they don’t flood your entire day.
