Hey friends! Welcome back to the show. Today, we're continuing the health series with one of the most important topics: our overall health, our mood, and even how we show up in our relationships and our work. I'm talking about sleep. It is something so basic to our lives, but we don't give it the credit it really deserves.
It is the easiest thing to sacrifice when life gets busy. I will tell you what you need to know, why it's important, and small habits that you can have in your life to feel a lot better.
It is so tempting to push sleep aside. I’m here to tell you why sleep is nonnegotiable. Consider today your friendly reminder to give yourself permission to rest well so you can feel amazing. Sleep is a superpower, and today, we talk about why sleep is so important.
01:13 - “Sleep is a superpower in this society. Sleep isn't just about feeling rested. It's actually the foundation for everything else.”
04:13 - “Sleep is like your emotional thermostat, and when you don't get enough of it, the thermostat goes haywire.”
05:48 - “The truth is when we sleep more, it helps us stay looking younger.”
21:06 - “I know it can be hard to prioritize sleep, but with everything else going on in life, it's one of the best investments you can make.”
21:15 - “When you sleep better, you live better.”

Welcome back! This week, we are with Jonathan Hoover. We are going to learn all about how to protect ourselves from burnout, if we're burned out, how to heal, how to recover, and how to manage our stress in a healthy way.
This is such an important topic in our health series because so much of our health has to do with how we are doing and how we're managing stress. Are we on the verge of burnout? Are we just emotionally overwhelmed? Are we weary? These are the things that we need to talk about. We're going to get strategies and tools. We're going to have some light bulb moments. And even though the topic's a little bit heavy, we're going to have a lot of fun.
Jonathan Hoover, PhD, serves as the Senior Associate Pastor of NewSpring Church in Wichita, Kansas. He also works as an Assistant Professor at Regent University’s School of Psychology and Counseling, where he is the Director of the Master of Science in Psychology program.
In Jonathan’s new book, Stress Fracture: Your Ultimate Guide to Beating Burnout, he shares how to reclaim control of your life and win the battle against burnout.
04:19 - “We give the best version of ourselves to God and to our family when we are managing our stress load and taking care of ourselves.”
14:39 - “Burnout happens because of an accumulation of things.”
18:06 - “It's important to trust that feeling that something isn't quite right.”
30:23 - “Attitudes are contagious, but burnout is incredibly contagious.”
30:56 - “God designed us to be more active than what most of us are in our culture.”

Welcome back! Today, I want to do a deep dive into supplements. This is for our health series. Of course, there's no way I can't talk about supplements. I’ve been reading and studying the supplement world for a long time.
My goal today is to give you a realistic look at supplements and what they can and can't do. I want to debunk the myth that we can get the majority of everything we need from our food alone. I have some really interesting data to support this. So whether you love them or hate them, this will be a fascinating episode for you.
03:00 - “Even if you're eating really healthy, it is very difficult for you to eat enough food to get your minimum RDA levels of vitamins and minerals every day.”
04:01 - “Most important is a multivitamin. A multivitamin is like your daily safety net. It's gonna fill in the gaps where your diet will fall short.”
05:28 - “Another one that I'm obsessed with and I think everyone should take as a supplement is magnesium. Magnesium is a powerhouse. I love it because magnesium is involved in over 300 processes in your body.”
18:13 - “Multivitamins help us feel better in the time that we have to live.”
21:48 - “However many years the Lord has given us, we want to feel good. We want to live them abundantly. We want to thrive. We don't just want to limp through life and that takes educating ourselves. It takes empowering ourselves.”
This week I’m currently loving The Rose Code by Kate Quinn. It’s historical fiction that dives into the lives of three women code breakers during WWII. If you’re like me and haven’t read it yet, you just may love it.
I know what great song you’ll love, Everything Has Breath by Bryan and Katie Torwalt and Jesus Culture. It’s upbeat. It’s the perfect song to put on, roll the windows down, and sing and praise through it all.

Welcome back. This is a really special episode in the health series. I'm here with Rebecca Fedrowitz, my health coach. She has been helping me through most of this year to get some of my issues under control. She solved a lot of problems. It's been life-changing.
The information we share in this conversation is what every woman should have. You're going to love it. We're going to talk about the immune system, gut health, food sensitivities, supplements, and more. We have so much to tell you. You're going to learn so much.
Rebekah Fedrowitz, MDN, BCHN®, is a board-certified holistic nutritionist and passionate advocate for women’s health. Rebekah specializes in revealing how imbalances in stress, hormones, and gut health are holding women back from feeling energized, focused, and in control of their lives.
Whether through private consulting, speaking engagements, or programs, Rebekah is on a mission to equip women to take control of their wellness and thrive.
03:37 - “ It's actually really common for things like reflux and bloating to be due to some sort of hidden food sensitivity.”
05:50 - “The gut is such an important part of our health, and it's so common for us in our modern society to have gut health imbalances.”
16:02 - “When women are well, we are better equipped to do the things that we were called to do.”
25:01 - “Ultimately one of the biggest reasons why stress is so harmful is because it starts in the gut and digestion.”
25:22 - “Everything you eat either adds to or takes away from your body.”

I am so excited to talk to you about something super important for your health that doesn't get enough attention. It may not sound exciting when you first hear about it, but I want you to stay with me. By the end of this show, I am going to make you the biggest fan.
Omega-3 fatty acids may not sound sexy or exciting, but they’re very important. I want to give you the research and let you go deeper into all the things that I'm talking about.
So why do I love these? These are little fats that pack a punch. When it comes to keeping your body and your mind healthy, whether we're focused on improving your skin, boosting your energy, or helping with anti-aging, omega-3s are the must-have in your routine.
I want you to take a closer look and get into the science of Omega-3s. I put together a free Omega-3s guide to give you resources that are research backed.
Favorite quotes:
04:34 - “Omega-3s, they support our brain, they help us with focus, they help us with memory, and they even help us with mood.”
05:17 - “Omega-3s are key for our skin. They make our skin look plump. They can help our skin not be dry, itchy, and irritated.”
09:43 - “One thing I love about omega-3s is they will keep your joints more flexible and preserve muscle mass, too, because those things naturally decrease as we get older. So, if you want to stay active, if you want to stay strong, it's just another reason to take omega-3s.”
10:21 - “For women, omega-3s can also help us balance our hormones.”
22:39 - “Omega-3s are simple and powerful. It is a great way to improve your health and keep you feeling great.”

Welcome back to the health series. Today is part one of two shows with Dr. Josh Axe. This conversation is so good I wanted to break it into two parts.
We discuss the importance of great health, self-care, and supporting hormonal and digestive health. We also discuss fats, proteins, collagen, bone broth, the very surprising thyroid research, and the health benefits of sourdough bread.

Welcome to the health series. In the next few weeks, I'll have so many guests sharing all they know about health. I'll also do my shows and share my health journey with you.
I have a lot to share. I'm not an expert in anything. I'm just somebody who's trying to get healthier, right? I have spent the last year getting in shape, taking care of myself, lowering my stress, and doing everything I can to help me feel better. After a whole year of experimenting, I want to share it with you.
I’m so excited, I put together a free resource for you of everything I'm talking about. What to use, how to use it, what causes aging, and what you can do that’s science backed and research tested to lessen aging. It’s in the show notes here, the YouTube description, the link is in my profile on Instagram.
Because skincare and anti-aging are so huge, we will break this show into two parts. We're gonna do half today and half next week, or else it's just gonna be the longest show ever for just you and me.
