How do we shift from our society from consumerism to citizenship?

In this episode entitled Freeing the Citizen Within From The Shackles of Consumerism, Amisha sits down with Jon Alexander of the New Citizenship Project, a social innovation lab designed to promote the role of the citizen and encourage better participation in society.

Jon speaks about the work underway to catalyse the shift from identifying as consumers to identifying as citizens. Together he and Amisha speak about how consumerism has played out in the political arena and why the Brexit referendum was a classic example of consumer democracy. Jon shares his insights on how we can contribute to the shift towards a society of citizens and invite people into greater participation.
