In this special episode of Beyond The Pitch, Juan takes a more gastronomical route to football. He had the pleasure to speak
to José Sánchez León and Sergio Camargo of Centerplate.
Both of these individuals took the time to talk about the huge project that they have on their hands this coming football season
in La Liga. José and Sergio will be overseeing the food service
at he new Estadio Wanda Metropolitano in Madrid as Atlético Madrid will move into their new state-of-the-art stadium in just a few days.
José Sánchez León has been one of the top executive chefs in all
of Spain as he has worked with some of the top restaurants and clients in the entertainment industry in the continent. Meanwhile Sergio Camargo is the head of hospitality for this endeavor as Atleti will look to bring a more family oriented feel to each one of their home matches this coming season. Both took the time off
to talk about the experiences they had in the United States
studying what is done there and how that could better be implemented during a gameday experience using food and outside the pitch entertainment as the major vehicle to have fans further engaged. Both talk about the obstacles there will
be but also the innovation behind a project that promises to be a true game-changer in the sports scene in European football.
