On the morning of Sunday July 20th, 2025, a fishing trip off the coast of Anna Maria Island turned into a nightmare. Douglas Scot Naeher, 60, allegedly attempted to murder his wife during an escalating boat confrontation roughly 33 miles offshore from Bean Point. With no one close enough to hear her scream, she fought back. This case is an incredible story of survival and the determination to live.
