Cree artist Kent Monkman is known for his provocative challenges to the representation of Indigenous peoples in Western Art, which often feature his two-spirit artistic persona, Miss Chief. Monkman's work is widely exhibited in Canada and internationally, including at New York's Metropolitan Museum of Art and the Smithsonian's National Museum of the American Indian.
