This is the true story behind the inspiration for the movie “Three Billboards Outside Ebbing, Missouri.” In the small town of Vidor, TX, Kathy Page’s body was found inside her car – 100 yards from home – nose down in a ditch. It was apparent from the beginning that it was staged… and a killer was on the loose. When the police were slow to act, Kathy’s father started putting up billboards, alleging a cover up and demanding answers.
After a flight attendant's murder, her widower received a letter from a man that said he thought his mother had been killed by the same person who'd murdered his wife. The problem? Police at the time didn't see the connection. It would take a newly formed task force looking into unsolved homicides to crack the case wide open. And prove that the son's intuition had been right all along.
It was the first snow during the winter of 1957, and as a special treat 7-year-old Maria Ridulph and her best friend Kathy were given permission to play in the snow after dinner. But Maria never came home that night. And despite one of the most intensive missing persons searches in Illinois history, decades went by before a suspect was finally brought to trial.
No one believes horror movies can happen in real life. No Freddys or Jasons will ever invade your dreams or terrorize you at camp. But what if they did?
At first, Jessyca Mullenberg’s father wasn’t concerned when she was late arriving home. She was with someone he’d known for years who was also a teacher’s aide at his daughter’s school. But her mother – who was divorced from Jessyca’s dad – was frantic. Why?? Because the teacher’s aide had been stalking her daughter for years.
A family’s worst nightmare – losing the daughter and sister they loved so much – only got worse when another tragedy occurred. And both were the result of one horrendous crime committed by a monster.
A night out with playing pool with friends led to the worst night of Jessica Cox's life. After her friends left the bar, she got a ride home from a guy she'd seen around the bars she and her friends frequented. But she wasn't aware of his extensive RAP sheet, nor did she know what he had planned.
It began on a scenic overlook in Scotland. Multiple parcels were seen trapped in the water under tree branches and dotting the landscape. And it ended with a newspaper headline that left its readers gobsmacked.
After the deaths of their parents, seven siblings – ranging in age from their mid-teens to mid-20s – suddenly found themselves accountable to no one. The younger ones had free rein, choosing to crash on couches at either a family member’s house or with a friend. And then one went missing… without a trace.
It was the end of an era when society matron Bernice Novack, the former wife of Fontainebleau Hotel owner Ben Novack, passed away at the age of 86. Shockingly, her only child Ben Jr. – once known as the Prince of the Fontainebleau – was gone just three months later. Coincidence?
