What makes a high-performing workplace? Amid debates about profitability
and productivity, there have been countless theories, but now an
extensive new study, led by two University of New South Wales'
researchers, highlights what many have long suggested – the quality of
organisational leadership is paramount. It shows the bosses of
top-performing organisations not only spend more time mentoring and
engaging their staff, but have an authenticity that brings integrity to
their behaviour at all times. The research has given rise to the High
Performing Workplace Index, which allows companies to benchmark
performance across six categories, including innovation, employee
experience and customer orientation.
