In June 2008, GALLERY CRAWL checks out Amanda Smith's debut exhibition, CANDY GARDENS AND SPARKLING SABERS at the Jack Fischer Gallery and trompS around town to view SEEING PEACE, a collection of billboards that represent how 10 international artists imagine peace.

In May 2008, GALLERY CRAWL checked out the MFA exhibition at CCA, California College of the Arts. Talk about hitting the jackpot! The show was amazing; we could easily have filled several episodes with what we discovered at the school's San Francisco campus. Greedy bastards, we decided to interview as many of the graduates as we could, capturing their auspicious debut into the San Francisco art world -- and beyond.

In April 2008, GALLERY CRAWL visits the Bedford Gallery in Walnut Creek for a chat with Carrie Lederer, the curator of THE ART OF DIORAMA exhibition, which features Jeremy Mora, Helen Cohen, Davis + Davis, Lothar Osterberg, Tracey Snelling and Misako Inaoka.

In March 2008, GALLERY CRAWL visits San Francisco's Mission District to see STAND STILL LIKE THE HUMMINGBIRD, Paul Wackers's second solo exhibition at the Eleanor Harwood Gallery. We also checked out STARTING WITH BLADE, an international collaboration featuring works that contemplate community...starting with the work of San Francisco-based artist, Michelle Blade.

GALLERY CRAWL drops into the NEITHER HERE NOR THERE show at Johannson Projects for a chat with gallerist Kimberly Johansson and the show's curator, Renny Pritikin, the Director of the Nelson Gallery and Fine Arts Collection at UC Davis. We also visit Maya Kabat and Antonio Vigil to talk about their INVISIBLE CITIES exhibition at Mercury 20, an artist-run gallery that's just a few blocks away in downtown Oakland.

The Luggage Store celebrates 20 years of supporting artists and communities in San Francisco's Tenderloin and beyond. What was once the 509 Cultural Center has grown into three venues: The Luggage Store on Market Street; The Luggage Store Annex at 509 Ellis; and Cohen Alley, adjacent to the 509 location. In January 2008, The Luggage Store presents a group survey, "IN THE FULLNESS OF TIME," which explores the organizations 20-year history.

In December 2007, GALLERY CRAWL visits Electric Works and Fabric8 in San Francisco, two art spots that serve double duty as stores and galleries.

GALLERY CRAWL visits Odyssey and East of Odyssey, two islands devoted to the presentation of art, installation, and performance in the virtual world Second Life. In October 2007, GALLERY CRAWL interviewed avatar Beavis Palowakski, one of the folks responsible for the creation and curation of the Odyssey art spaces.
