  • Simple Minds’ Jim Kerr on Post-Punk Beginnings, '80s Anthems, and Future Music

On this archival episode of Kyle Meredith with..., hear from Simple Minds: the Scottish rock giants who went from post-punk outsiders to stadium-filling anthem makers.

With "Don’t You (Forget About Me)," the band became forever tied to the ‘80s, but their catalog runs way deeper — sweeping synths, soaring choruses, and a knack for reinvention that’s kept them going for decades. Whether they’re embracing their new wave roots or pushing into fresh territory, Jim Kerr and company are still proving they’re more than just a John Hughes soundtrack staple. Join us for this retrospective as Jim Kerry talks with Kyle Meredith about the legacy, the music, and the future of Simple Minds.

  • David Hornsby & Charlotte Nicdao Talk Mythic Quest Season 4, Absurd Chaos, and Side Quests

Kyle Meredith sits down with David Hornsby and Charlotte Nicdao to break down Season 4 of Apple TV’s Mythic Quest, the chaos of game development, and what’s next for the characters. Listen now.

Nicdao reveals that Poppy is in a new place this season — happier, in a relationship, and almost balanced — which, of course, is bound to implode. “She’s always waiting to get out,” Nicdao says, describing how naturally the character comes to her. Hornsby, who also writes for the show, admits that when scripting for himself, he goes all in on humiliating David Brittlesbee

The conversation also dives into Episode 4’s Villains’ Feast, a costumed, chaotic, and hilarious moment that let the full cast interact in a way they rarely get to. Outside of Mythic Quest, Nicdao is making her directorial debut with Asian Male, 60s, Lead, while Hornsby is bringing The Lost Boys to the stage in a new musical adaptation. “They sing about their inner thoughts,” he teases.

  • Taj Mahal on Grammy Noms, Generational Blues, and Swinging Live in Tulsa

Kyle Meredith caught up with the legendary Taj Mahal to discuss his Grammy-winning live album Swingin’ Live at the Church in Tulsa and the deep-rooted history that fuels his music. Listen above or wherever you get your podcasts.

Mahal’s signature style — deeply informed by blues, jazz, folk, and world music — stems from a lifetime of self-taught exploration, starting with a childhood discovery of his stepfather’s abandoned guitar. “I figured out how to play with an old comb,” he recalls. He later met a neighbor from North Carolina who introduced him to Jimmy Reed and Blind Blake, and the story of a future blues legend began to grow.

The new live album captures that same spirit, recorded at Tulsa’s historic Church Studio, originally founded by Leon Russell. The setlist includes classics like “Queen Bee” and a fiery jam on “Mean Old World,” proving his music is as vibrant as ever.

  • Rewind: Foo Fighters’ Taylor Hawkins and Chris Shiflett on Collaborations, Queen, and Dave Grohl

On this Rewind episode of Kyle Meredith With..., revisit a conversation with foundational Foo Fighters members Taylor Hawkins and Chris Shiflett.

Foo Fighters are a band that rose from the ashes of grunge to become rock’s most reliable hit-makers and festival headliners. But beyond Dave Grohl’s frontman glow, it’s guys like Shiflett and the late, great Hawkins who gave the band its heartbeat and bite.

Shiflett’s slick guitar work brought a sharp edge to their sound, while Hawkins’ explosive drumming and larger-than-life personality made him the band’s not-so-secret weapon. Together, they helped shape the Foo Fighters into more than just Grohl’s post-Nirvana project — they became a rock institution.

  • Natti Natasha Talks en Amargue, Bachata Roots, and Romeo Santos Collaboration

Kyle Meredith sat down with Natti Natasha to dive into her latest album, Natti Natasha en Amargue, which marks a return to her roots and a deep embrace of Bachata. Listen now.

Produced and written by none other than Romeo Santos, the king of Bachata himself, the album is a passionate exploration of love, heartbreak, and cultural pride. “This is definitely a moment of just being very close to the fans, embracing the Dominican Republic, embracing Latinos,” Natasha shared.

Collaborating with Santos was a dream come true. “I used to listen to Romeo while growing up in the Dominican Republic,” she recalled. “To now sit in the studio with him, watching him create — it’s surreal.” But despite the big names and genre shifts throughout her career, Natasha insists on one constant: “No matter the style — whether it’s Bachata, R&B, or reggaeton — you’ll always get Natti Natasha. That’s my stamp.”

  • Rewind: Creedence Clearwater Revival on Their Past, Present, and Lasting Impact

On this Rewind episode of Kyle Meredith With..., Creedence Clearwater Revival's John Fogerty, Doug Clifford, and Stu Cook muse over the iconic band's legacy.

Their swampy sound, blue-collar storytelling, and unshakable hooks made CCR legends, churning out hit after hit in just a few short years. But behind the music was a history of tension, lawsuits, and one of rock’s most infamous breakups. Now, decades later, the music still endures, and so do the stories.

  • Peyton List on School Spirits, Cobra Kai’s Finale, and Girl Haunts Boy

Listen to Peyton List chat with Kyle Meredith about how her career has taken her from Disney Channel’s Jessie to kicking ass in Cobra Kai. Now, she's headed back to the afterlife with School Spirits Season 2. Listen above or wherever you get your podcasts.

Of course, this isn’t List’s only recent spectral role, as she starred in Netflix's Girl Haunts Boy, making her something of Hollywood’s go-to ghost. The challenge of playing two different spirits was worth it, though, as School Spirits continues to build an original, practical-effects-driven ghost world.

And then there’s Cobra Kai, which wraps up its six-season run this year. List reflected on her journey with Tori, a character she’s seen evolve in ways she never expected. “I thought I was just guest-starring,” she said. “Now, I care so much that I actually went to the writers about her ending.” With the show coming to a close, she’s got big plans — including an upcoming, still-under-wraps movie she calls a dream project. “I wing everything and hope it works out,” she said. So far, it definitely has.

  • Sam Jaeger on Handmaid’s Tale, Wolf Man, and Chasing Stories

Kyle Meredith caught up with Sam Jaeger to talk about his standout year, balancing roles in Blumhouse’s Wolf Man and the final season of The Handmaid’s Tale. Listen now.

Known for his versatility across comedy (Parenthood, Take Me Home) and intense drama (The Handmaid’s Tale), Jaeger said he’s always focused on finding the humanity in his roles. In Wolf Man, he plays a man grappling with isolation and transformation, themes he noted were inspired by the pandemic. “It’s really a story about a family trying to stay connected,” Jaeger explained. “[Screenwriter and director] Leigh Whannell wrote this during quarantine, and you can feel the weight of that experience."

Jaeger also touched on wrapping The Handmaid’s Tale, which he praised for tackling heavy, relevant themes. While fans may crave resolution, Jaeger assured viewers the finale will stay true to Margaret Atwood’s cautionary tale, resisting the temptation of a neatly tied-up ending. “This isn’t a ‘happily ever after’ kind of story,” he emphasized.
