Anthony offers up the latest information on who might be available as the Lakers take on the Nuggets tonight. Denver is also anxiously waiting to see who might be available for them in this one, too, so Anthony offers up why they might be shorthanded. It's also standings watch season so Anthony offered up what was going on while he was recording the episode. (Spoiler: Golden State and the Clippers both won)
Anthony welcomes Harrison into The Lounge to talk about Austin Reaves. What tier of player is Reaves right now? What caliber of player can he eventually become? His contract situation is going to get a little tricky, too, so the guys talk about its impact on the Lakers' title window at least initially with Luka Doncic. They wander around a little bit from there but do wrap up the pod simply enjoying how fun this version of the team is.
Anthony and Harrison discuss Austin Reaves' place compared to the rest of the NBA. What tier of player is he? What is his ceiling? Harrison even breaks out a comparison that isn't as ridiculous as you'd think initially.
Anthony and Harrison have been doing this (covering the Lakers) long enough to be able to enjoy how fun the current state of things are. They take a step back and smell the roses after laughing at the nonsense they've had to cover to get here.
LOWDOWN: Anthony marvels at some of the circumstances surrounding this team and how different this situation would've played out before the Luka Doncic trade.
FULL: The Lakers didn't mess around too much and handled their business against a shorthanded Spurs team. It was a nice outcome for a team that has historically played with its food.
PART ONE: Austin Reaves had been working his way back following that calf strain but he's been incredible of late.
PART TWO: The Lakers are slowly getting their rotation back. It couldn't possibly happen with much less time to figure everything out heading into the postseason.
Anthony breaks down the Lakers' win over Phoenix and what it means for the standings right now. He gives his thoughts on his favorite performances from over the weekend and then quickly discusses how cool the Lakers' response to JJ Redick calling them out has been.
FULL: Anthony explains why he never thought the sky was falling, even after the Brooklyn loss. JJ Redick sent a message to his team after that game and they've responded really well. Anthony breaks down the win over Phoenix, Luka Doncic's performances, Austin Reaves looking more like himself and Jaxson Hayes' triumphant return. We also got an injury update that Anthony details and then he wraps the show with some questions and an update on Raj.
