The Icelandic singer-songwriter tells us her journey of finding jazz after growing up in a classical environment, the story that this new set tells, and how she thinks of the record as a musical based on independence and love. Laufey goes on to discuss her experience at the Berkeley School of Music and the importance of understanding the business of music as an artist, as well as the runaway success of her single “From The Start,” working with Dan Wilson on a co-write, and writing a letter to her 13-year-old self to say that things are going to get a whole lot better.
