„Baltagul” este un roman scris de scriitorul român Mihail Sadoveanu și publicat în 1930.

Protagonista romanului polițist este Vitoria, soția unui cioban, care are o premoniție că soțul ei a fost ucis în timpul călătoriei acestuia până în localitatea învecinată pentru a cumpăra încă o turmă de oi.

Atunci când se duce la preotul satului și la prefectul județului pentru a-i preveni despre presentimentul său, ambii resping această posibilitate.

Cu toate acestea, presimțirea rea continuă să o macine. Deoarece Vitoria are mai mare încredere în superstițiile sale și în simbolurile arhaice țărănești decât în cei doi bărbați, aceasta trimite după fiul său, plecat și el cu treburi în alt sat.

Băiatul era și el în așteptarea unor vești de la tatăl său despre rambursarea datoriilor.

El se întoarce acasă și pornește într-o călătorie împreună cu mama sa pentru a afla ce s-a întâmplat cu tatăl său.

Vitoria este o eroină atipică, deoarece este plină de energie și extrem de hotărâtă să-i găsească pe ucigașii soțul său.

Sadoveanu s-a inspirat din alte două balade, dintre care una este despre o ciobăniță care vrea să se răzbune pe o ceată de hoți.

The Hatchet is a book written by Romanian author Mihail Sadoveanu and published in 1930.

The protagonist of the crime novel is a shepherd's wife named Vitoria who has a premonition that her husband has died while he was traveling to the nearby town of Dorna to purchase another flock of sheep.

When she goes to see the priest in her village and her county's prefect and apprises them of her presentiment, they both dismiss it.

However, Vitoria's sense of foreboding continues, and she trusts her superstitions and the peasant world's archaic symbols more than she trusts either of the two men, so she sends for her son, who was away in another village, also on a business trip.

He had been waiting to hear from his father about repaying debts.

He returns home and embarks on a journey with his mother to discover what happened to his father.

At the end of their fantastical trek, they find his dead body and seek to avenge his death.

His skull indicates that he had been killed with a single hatchet blow to the head.

Upon finding the bandits who murdered him, they take their revenge.

Some critics consider The Hatchet to be Sadoveanu's best work and have noted the parallel themes between the novel and the Romanian folk ballad Miorita.

Vitoria is an unusual heroine in the novel as she is full of energy and extremely resolute in her search to find her husband's killers.

When writing the story, Sadoveanu was also inspired by two other ballads, one of which is about a shepherdess who seeks revenge on a band of thieves.

„Orbitor” este o trilogie scrisă de Mircea Cărtărescu.

După ce a fost publicat primul volum s-a bucurat imediat de succes, iar celelalte două au avut parte de aceiași primire.

Primul volum este intitulat „Aripa stângă”, cel de-al doilea „Corpul”, iar cel de-al treilea „Aripa dreaptă”.

Pentru a-și transpune cititorii înapoi în copilăria sa, Cărtărescu folosește imaginea unui fluture, aripile căruia îi reprezintă pe părinții săi, iar corpul îl reprezintă pe el însuși.

Conceptul pe care îl exprimă este că fiecare persoană este punctul de întâlnire al părinților săi, un amalgam al istoriilor, experiențelor și personalităților acestora.

Trilogia este o călătorie viscerală în amintirile caleidoscopice ale naratorului despre copilăria sa.

El povestește despre timpul petrecut într-un spital în anii de adolescență și descrie preistoria familiei sale.

Povestea se deapănă dintr-un circ călător într-o poveste cu Poliție Secretă, armate de zombie, piloți de luptă, scene de jazz underground în New Orleans și ascensiunea regimului comunist în România.

Călătoria prin amintirile naratorului este mistică și ireală, și descrie într-un mod captivant primii ani formativi ai autorului în București.

Timpul petrecut în spital l-a determinat să demareze o căutare interioară pentru a găsi hrană pentru imaginația sa.

El ilustrează ascensiunea comunismului și paranoia regimului, spunând povești despre vocațiile rudelor sale.

Blinding is a trilogy of books by Mircea Cartarescu.

At the first volume's release, it was an instant success, and the second two volumes witnessed the same high level of success.

The first volume in the trilogy is entitled The Left Wing, while the second is called The Body, and the third is The Right Wing.

In taking readers back in time to his childhood, Cartarescu uses the image of a butterfly, with each of the two wings representing each of the narrator's parents and the body representing the narrator himself.

The concept he expresses is that every person is the meeting point of his parents, an amalgamation of their histories, experiences, and personalities.

The trilogy is a visceral journey into the narrator's kaleidoscopic memories of childhood.

He tells about the time he spent in a hospital during his teenage years and describes his family's prehistory.

The story winds through a traveling circus to a story of the Secret Police, armies of zombies, fighter pilots, New Orleans' underground jazz scene, and the rise of the communist regime in Romania.

The trip through the narrator's memories is mystical and surreal, and it mesmerizingly describes the author's formative years of life in Bucharest.

His time in the hospital sent him on an internal search to find sustenance for his imagination.

He illustrates the rise of communism and the regime's paranoia by telling stories about his relatives' vocations.

The entire world in the Blinding trilogy is formed through the memories of his childhood and adolescent years.
