Annie Li is a university student that helps bring the sport of skiing to individuals living with disabilities. I love what she and other volunteers are doing to expand upon the possibilities of skiing and this is why I had to have her on the podcast. If you've seen adaptive skiers and snowboarders at your local mountain, you'll see how the mountains can and should be enjoyed by everyone.

One of my former patients, Anne Marie, shares about her motivation for wanting to get a knee replacement, and how her desire to get back to skiing was the motivator to stay consistent through the rehab process.
One of my biggest pet peeves is when my time gets wasted, especially when I'm inconvenienced. My instantaneous reaction is to feeling anger and hatred towards the person or event, but then when I take a step back I realize that the person or event never intentionally meant to cause me the trouble. It was solely my perception of the outcome that affected the way I would respond.
Now instead of thinking "I have to do this" it's more of a "I get to do this". Even when life is tough and challenges come my way, I'm, so blessed to be in a position to take on these challenges and be able to work through them to become a better person.
If you are struggling through your ski rehab and need that person to give you a breakthrough, give me a shout and let's connect to help you see how many other people have overcome the same struggles you're going through.

Skiing every month out of the year is hard enough on its own. The longest streak I've held is skiing 19 months in a row, and it was extremely difficulty to trek down snow for turns in the late Summer and early Fall. This last year, Kim accomplished the goal of skiing 30years in a row. That means she's skied consecutively for 360 months!!! This is clearly an amazing feat and she's not stopping there. Listen to this episode to see how she's been able to ski for that many months is a row despite injuries along the way, and hear what plans she has in the future to keep her streak alive.

Anger is a very real emotion, especially when things don't go your way. I remember how angry I felt after making the dumb decision to drop the cliff that would result in my season ending injury in 2018. If I could go back and change the circumstances, I 100% would. However, what I've since realized that you can't change the past, you can only control the present and determine the future. It's when you take that step back where you have the space to process your emotions, and anger is definitely an emotion that can cause us to act irrationally.
