Life & Loss: Exploring the Art of Motherhood with Brandi Hofer

Brandi Hofer is a Canadian artist who earned her BFA in 2008 from the Nova Scotia College of Art & Design in Halifax and has since exhibited widely both nationally and internationally. Her main focus is figurative and portrait painting, where she explores themes of empowerment, the female psyche, and our emotional selves. Since she became a mother in 2014, Hofer has been involving her children in her painting process, creating a 44-piece series with her then 2-year-old son. She continues to be extremely prolific at her in-home studio, creating custom commissioned pieces, several bodies of self-motivated artworks, and more recently she has begun transitioning her art into murals as well.
