(26) After this, his brother came out, with his hand grasping Esau’s heel; so he was named Jacob. (創世記25:25−26ａ)最初に出て来た子は、赤くて、全身毛衣のようであった。それでその子をエサウと名づけた。（26)そのあとで弟が出て来たが、その手はエサウのかかとをつかんでいた。それでその子をヤコブと名づけた。-Family problems 家族の問題 (Genesis 25:27-28) The boys grew up, and Esau became a skillful hunter, a man of the open country, while Jacob was content to stay at home among the tents. (28) Isaac, who had a taste for wild game, loved Esau, but Rebekah loved Jacob. (創世記25:27-28)この子どもたちが成長したとき、エサウは巧みな猟師、野の人となり、ヤコブは穏やかな人となり、天幕に住んでいた。(28)イサクはエサウを愛していた。それは彼が猟の獲物を好んでいたからである。リベカはヤコブを愛していた。-Family breakdown 家族の崩壊 (Genesis 25:29-34) Once when Jacob was cooking some stew, Esau came in from the open country, famished. (30) He said to Jacob, “Quick, let me have some of that red stew! I’m famished!” (That is why he was also called Edom.) (31) Jacob replied, “First sell me your birthright.” (32) “Look, I am about to die,” Esau said. “What good is the birthright to me?” (33) But Jacob said, “Swear to me first.” So he swore an oath to him, selling his birthright to Jacob. (34) Then Jacob gave Esau some bread and some lentil stew. He ate and drank, and then got up and left. So Esau despised his birthright. (創世記25:29-34)さて、ヤコブが煮物を煮ているとき、エサウが飢え疲れて野から帰って来た。（30）エサウはヤコブに言った。「どうか、その赤いのを、そこの赤い物を私に食べさせてくれ。私は飢え疲れているのだから。」それゆえ、彼の名はエドムと呼ばれた。（31)するとヤコブは、「今すぐ、あなたの長子の権利を私に売りなさい」と言った。（32)エサウは、「見てくれ。死にそうなのだ。長子の権利など、今の私に何になろう」と言った。(33)それでヤコブは、「まず、私に誓いなさい」と言ったので、エサウはヤコブに誓った。こうして彼の長子の権利をヤコブに売った。(34)ヤコブはエサウにパンとレンズ豆の煮物を与えたので、エサウは食べたり、飲んだりして、立ち去った。こうしてエサウは長子の権利を軽蔑したのである。 (Genesis 27:41) Esau held a grudge against Jacob because of the blessing his father had given him. He said to himself, “The days of mourning for my father are near; then I will kill my brother Jacob.” (創世記27:41)エサウは、父がヤコブを祝福したあの祝福のことでヤコブを恨んだ。それでエサウは心の中で言った。「父の喪の日も近づいている。そのとき、弟ヤコブを殺してやろう。」-14 years later God speaks to him 14年後、神様はヤコブに語った1.Decide to set things right 物事を正しくする決断をしよう -Go back … and I’ll be with you. 戻って、わたしはあなたと供にいる (Genesis 31:3) Then the Lord said to Jacob, “Go back to the land of your fathers and to your relatives, and I will be with you.” (創世記31:3)主はヤコブに仰せられた。「あなたが生まれた、あなたの先祖の国に帰りなさい。わたしはあなたとともにいる。」2.Think about how to bless どのように祝福できるかを考えよう (Genesis 32:13) He spent the night there, and from what he had with him he selected a gift for his brother Esau: (創世記32:13)その夜をそこで過ごしてから、彼は手もとの物から兄エサウへの贈り物を選んだ。3.Let God touch you - encounter! 神様に触れてもらおう-出会う！ (Genesis 32:24-28) So Jacob was left alone, and a man wrestled with him till daybreak. (25) When the man saw that he could not overpower him, he touched the socket of Jacob’s hip so that his hip was wrenched as he wrestled with the man. (26) Then the man said, “Let me go, for it is daybreak.” But Jacob replied, “I will not let you go unless you bless me.” (27) The man asked him, “What is your name?” “Jacob,” he answered. (28) Then the man said, “Your name will no longer be Jacob, but Israel,[a] because you have struggled with God and with humans and have overcome.” (創世記32:24-28)ヤコブはひとりだけ、あとに残った。すると、ある人が夜明けまで彼と格闘した。(25)ところが、その人は、ヤコブに勝てないのを見てとって、ヤコブのもものつがいを打ったので、その人と格闘しているうちに、ヤコブのもものつがいがはずれた。(26)するとその人は言った。「わたしを去らせよ。夜が明けるから。」しかし、ヤコブは答えた。「私はあなたを去らせません。私を祝福してくださらなければ。」(27)その人は言った。「あなたの名は何というのか。」彼は答えた。「ヤコブです。」(28)その人は言った。「あなたの名は、もうヤコブとは呼ばれない。イスラエルだ。あなたは神と戦い、人と戦って、勝ったからだ。」-God is able to do miracles! 神様は奇跡を起こすことが出来る！ (Genesis 33:4) But Esau ran to meet Jacob and embraced him; he threw his arms around his neck and kissed him.
