Karen Frazier is a prolific health writer in the area of mind, body, and spirit.
She started this journey back in her early 20’s when she was a personal trainer and bodybuilder and eventually “broke” her body. She was diagnosis Hashimoto’s thyroiditis and celiac disease. This left her obese, sluggish, and in constant pain. Now also exercise-intolerant, she became frustrated and disheartened and didn’t think she would ever be physically good at anything again.
After doing a ton of research she changed the way she ate to local, organic, sustainable, fruits, veggies, & animal proteins, and eliminated anything processed. She started with gentle exercise, first with walking then Nia and yoga. Her immediate improvement to her health was weight loss (145 pounds in about a 18 months), massive energy, and she could work out again. Through her own journey she started to write cookbooks for people with health conditions.
On the show Karen shares why over-exercise isn’t good for the body, why having the ‘perfect’ body doesn’t mean healthy, and how following your body’s natural way of healing can lead to many spiritual experiences.
