An ESPN article lists the Boston Bruins as 1 of 7 teams linked to UFA center Nazem Kadri.

Host Ian McLaren takes a look at how realistic this might be, citing cap concerns, and Kadri's age and outlier season as potential risks in a long-term, big-money deal.

Still, Kadri would look nice in black and gold.

As the Boston Bruins wait on decisions by Patrice Bergeron and David Krejci, other Atlantic Division teams have been making serious moves.

Have the Detroit Red Wings and Ottawa Senators done enough to close the gap? Will the Buffalo Sabres and Montreal Canadiens make any noise?

And what about the Toronto Maple Leafs, Tampa Bay Lightning and Florida Panthers? Will any of those teams take steps back?

Host Ian McLaren takes a look at the landscape and assesses where the Bruins fit at the moment.

The Boston Bruins announced a new deal for Jack Studnicka on Saturday.

It's still believed he can play a role on this team, and where he fits into the roster depends on whether Patrice Bergeron and David Krejci sign.

Host Ian McLaren takes a look at the Bruins' current center depth, or lack thereof to be more accurate.

Plus, a blockbuster trade shook up the Atlantic Division, but the Florida Panthers may not be better off for it.

John Gruden has been named as an Assistant Coach for the Boston Bruins.

The former defenseman was drafted by the Bruins in 1990 and brings an impressive coaching track record to Boston. He'll focus on the blue line, and will look to help generate more offense from the team's defensemen.

Jack Ahcan signed a new deal last week, and he'll get a chance to impress in training camp and earn some NHL playing time amind injuries.

Plus, Pavel Zacha filed for arbitration and the waiting game continues with Patrice Bergeron and David Krejci.

The newest member of the Boston Bruins met with the media on Thursday and dropped an interesting nugget.

Not only did captain Patrice Bergeron call him personally, but he also said he's looking forward to meeting at training camp.

Plus, Zacha already has a home in the area with his fiancee, he's best buds with Jakub Zboril, and he's played with both David Pastrnak and Taylor Hall.

Seems like he'll fit right in once a contract is signed.

Who won't be fitting in is Dylan Strome, who signed with the Washington Capitals.

Boston Bruins general manager Don Sweeney met with the media Wednesday evening to discuss the acquisition of Pavel Zacha, the club's five depth free-agent signings, and the latest on negotiations with Patrice Bergeron, David Krejci, and David Pastrnak.

Host Ian McLaren discusses Zacha's upside and the need to add depth after losing several AHL players in free agency, as well as what's holding up the formal signings of the top two centers and the high-scoring winger.

The Boston Bruins made a trade prior the beginning of NHL free agency, acquiring Pavel Zacha from the New Jersey Devils for Erika Haula.

They also added 5 depth players in AJ Greer, Dan Renoud, Connor Carrick, Keith Kinkaid, and Vinni Lettieri.

What they have yet to do is announce the return of Patrice Bergeron or David Krejci.

Don Sweeney still has some work to do!

Jim Montgomery was introduced as the 29th head coach in Boston Bruins history on Monday.

He's hoping to improve team scoring while making the Bruins very hard to play against. He's also very appreciative of the opportunity and excited to get going among the rabod fan base in Boston.

CEO Charlie Jacobs believes a full rebuild would be a tough sell for the fans, and the plan is for the Bruins to be a cap team and compete for the Stanley Cup year in and year out.

Whether that's realistic post-Patrice Bergeron remains to be seen, but it seems as though the captain and perhaps David Krejci will be back for at least one more season, delaying those touch choices.

Don't expect the Bruins to be active in free agency beyond the two veteran centers and a David Pastrnak extension as the roster is pretty much set, barring any trades or buyouts.

Host Ian McLaren breaks this all down on today's episode of Locked on Boston Bruins.
