Oregon Football's season has ended, but new HC Dan Lanning is exciting Duck fans as he wraps up his time at Georgia. The Bulldogs' defense showed up in a BIG way last Friday in the College Football Playoff, and that should make Oregon feel good about their head coach. Oregon Football's season ended with a disappointing 47-32 loss in the Alamo Bowl to Oklahoma. But...despite the frustrating game, there were several positive takeaways for Duck fans as they look ahead to the 2022 season. Among those encouraging signs, something Spencer alluded to before the game might be an important thing to watch.

For an Oregon defense that allowed over 500 yards and 47 points, there are in fact things to look forward to for Duck fans on that side of the ball. Oregon Football's 2021 season comes to an end with a 47-32 loss in the Alamo Bowl to the Oklahoma Sooners. The Ducks' defense allowed over 500 yards of offense, including 30 first half points, but the deck was stacked against the Oregon defense in a significant way. Most of this game was tough to watch for Oregon fans, but there were a small handful of highlights as well.

There were moments where it looked like Oregon might make a QB change after trailing 30-3 at the half, but it never came. Many Oregon fans were frustrated that none of the Ducks' 3 freshman quarterbacks appeared in the game, and they have a right to be. A 47-32 loss to Oklahoma is not a great way to end the season, but in many ways it's a fitting end to the Mario Cristobal era--despite him not being on the sideline for this game.
