The Utah Jazz came into the season with more expectations than ever before. This week on Locked On Jazz we try to look at all the reasons why the season fell short of where people had hoped.

The talk around Rudy Gobert and Donovan Mitchell is never ending and yesterday it increased again with reports about Rudy Gobert's plans. Nothing is ever vetted or checked anymore simply run with. The voices around all the players may have the biggest impact on all of this unnecessary drama.

Locked On Jazz continues to look at how the Utah Jazz ended up out in the first round and where the franchise stands. Today a look back at the move of 2019 to pivot from a defensive team to an offensive team and how it worked. With a bizaree ending that the team suddenly couldn't shoot in the final playoff games against the Dallas Mavericks.

After the defense carrying the Jazz to the playoffs for three years but running short when the offense couldn't muster enough juice the Utah Jazz front office pivotted into an offensive team in 2019 with the trade for Mike Conley and Jordan Clarkson and the free agent signing of Bojan Bogdanovic.

From there the Jazz prospered offensive until its final stanza in the first round of the 2022 playoffs

Bojan Bogdanovic for 3. A shot that has given the Jazz so many great moments over the years fell short and the Utah Jazz season came to an end at hands of Luka Doncic and the Dallas Mavericks

The offense that was ranked #1 throughout the entire season never got flowing for the Utah Jazz in the series and in the final two games they shoot 3 of 30 and 9 of 35 from three.

The Mavericks went 5 out for the 2nd half without playing Dwight Powell and the same bug a boy for the Utah Jazz in the past came to back. The Jazz allowed 37 points in the 3rd quarter and tighten down to 21 points in the 4th quarter but just didn't make enough offensive plays.
