Jam-packed show for the home opener.   The show is highlighted by David Locke sitting down with Ricky Rubio in a get to know interview.  They go back to Spain to learn about his childhood.  Then they discuss how he broke into professional basketball and the burden that was placed on him at a young age.   The conversation wraps up talking about the books Talent Code and Grit and how they apply to his life.

David Locke runs thru the news of the day with the Utah Jazz.  Leading off with Dante Exum having shoulder surgery and what the timetable might be while we know we will never get one.   In a surprise to some people Royce O'Neale made the Jazz roster over Weber State's Joel Bolomboy.  Locke talks about how Bolomboy is an NBA player, but O'Neale won the spot and is likely a rotation player in the NBA.

Locke touches on a few other news notes and a talks about a player who has worked his way into the rotation.

Finally, Locke sits down with Donovan Mitchell.  The rookie from Louisville is thoughtful, insightful and a joy while discussing his upbringing and his approach to the game.   Mitchell will be a fan favorite after listening to this interview.

ESPN's Kevin Pelton joined David Locke for LOCKED ON NBA and in their conversation they talked about the Jazz and the value and depth and defense for a team.   Is defense really less valuable than offense and is the Jazz depth as good as people have said?

Reports over the weekend talked about how the Jazz are unlikely to get an extension done with Rodney Hood.   Locke explains that it has nothing to do with how the Jazz and Hood feel about each other, but much more about the cap implications and the rules of the CBA.

The Utah Jazz were struck with a huge injury in their friday pre-season game against the Phoenix Suns with Dante Exum separating his shoulder. Locke breaks down the impact on Dante and how significiant it is for the Utah Jazz.
