It is Thursday, which means it is mailbag day on our podcast. Thanks to those of you who submitted questions for the show. Fortunately and unfortunately there were far too many questions submitted for me to be able to answer all of them. Apologies if your question was unanswered. Feel free to ask it again in a future podcast.
On this week's mailbag, we look at whether it will be easier for the Jets to work around their offensive line situation or their cornerback situation, how the offensive line has looked so far, whether the Jets will look internally or outside the organization for Quincy Enunwa's replacement, whether there was a difference between the way Todd Bowles and Kacy Rodgers calls a game, areas of improvement for Jamal Adams in year two, differences between the Sam Darnold of 2018 and the Mark Sanchez of 2009, how much blame Parry Nickerson deserves for touchdowns against the Colts, and more.

It is Wednesday, which normally means we do a crossover podcast with that week's opponent. There is currently no show on the network for the Vikings, which means this week will have no crossover show. However, I can provide a Vikings expert to talk about this week's opponent. Our podcast guest today is Chris Gates, who covers the Vikings at Daily Norseman.
On today's show Chris and I discuss Kirk Cousins, who was a Jets free agent target, John DeFilippo, who might be a Jets coaching target if the team makes a change in a few months, some of the players to watch on offense for Minnesota, some of key guys on defense, and the quality of special teams.

The Jets are 3-3 with an upcoming date this weekend against the Minnesota Vikings. The team is on a two game winning streak.
As we ride this winning streak, today on the podcast we are joined by MacGregor Wells. There's a chance you are familiar with him from some of his past podcast visits or from his work on Gang Green Nation.
We discuss how positive things are looking for the team. Among our topics was the key sequence from Sunday's win over the Indianapolis Colts, how in charge Sam Darnold looks of the offense, some key numbers that look good for the defense, and some big picture context on the team's play.

Things have started looking considerably brighter for the Jets over the last two weeks. Off last week's domination of the Denver Broncos, New York made it a winning streak on Sunday defeating the Indianapolis Colts 42-34 at MetLife Stadium. Two weeks ago, it felt like the season was going off the rail after an ugly loss at Jacksonville capped a three game losing streak. Now the Jets' record is level at 3-3.
On today's podcast we recap the game. The big star for the Jets was Sam Darnold, who had perhaps his first signature performance. We will discuss highlights and what it means for the big picture. We will also discuss some of the other stars of the game, including Jason Myers, Morris Claiborne, and Darron Lee.

The Jets take on the Indianapolis Colts this Sunday at MetLife Stadium. It is Week 6 of the 2018 NFL season.
Just a week ago, many fans were frustrated as it seemed we might be in the middle of another potentially horrible Jets season. A win against the Broncos has brightened the spirits around this fanbase. Now with a victory against a struggling Colts team, the Jets will be back to .500 through the first six weeks of the season. This game is not a guaranteed victory by any stretch of the imagination for the Jets, but one week can make a big difference.
On today's podcast we preview the game between the Jets and the Colts, looking at the keys.

Thursday is mailbag day on the podcast. Thanks to everybody who sent in questions this week. There were too many good ones to answer them all. Apologies if I did not get to yours. Feel free to resend it next week if you would like.
Today we look at the extent to which Darron Lee has improved so far in 2018, whether drafting a wide receiver in the first round makes sense, why there aren't as many trades in the NFL as in other sports leagues, how the Jets offense will attack the Colts defense, whether the Jets' coaching staff and general manager could survive a late season swoon, whether a new general manager would fire an inherited coach, whether Haason Reddick is a player the Jets should target in a potential trade, and why the Jets run game is so inconsistent.

We have no Crossover Wednesday podcast. Usually Wednesdays are for crossover shows with the podcast hosts of that week's opponent. The Colts show on the network is currently searching for a new host, which makes such an episode impossible to do.
So instead today we are going to look at Pro Football Focus grades. PFF has a partnership with our podcast so on today's show we will look at the grades on the two sides. The normal disclaimers apply. PFF grades should not be taken as gospel. They are merely something we are looking at on today's show.
Will this episode be an interesting look at the teams? Will this episode be some guy reading a bunch of boring numbers? Will it be both? Tune in to find out.

As Jets fans bask in the glow of Sunday's big win, a number of the game's stars are receiving high praise. Isaiah Crowell had a historic day running the football. Robby Anderson and Leonard Williams had big statistical days of their own. Morris Claiborne and the offensive line put up quality performances.
While acknowledging these encouraging games, on today's podcast we are going to look in a different direction. The show will focus on players doing things that have not generated a ton of attention. These aren't all small name players. One in particular is a high profile guy. But the players we will discuss on today's show aren't generating as much buzz as many of their teammates.
We will discuss three guys who are positives and three who are negatives.

The Jets desperately needed a win in Week 5 over the Denver Broncos. The team was struggling having lost three straight. The fanbase was restless. There was danger of falling 1-4, and this season spiraling out of control.
The Jets got the win they needed, a 34=16 blowout win. This improves the team's 2018 record to 2-3. There still is a lot of work left to be done, but the team at least was able to put away some of the negativity for one week. On today's podcast we break down this convincing win,
It was a day when many oft-criticized performers stepped up for the team and delivered big efforts. We will discuss the heroes of Week 5 on the show.

It is Thursday, which makes it mailbag day on the podcast. Thanks to everybody who submitted questions. I apologize to everybody whose questions were not answered. Feel free to send them again in the future.
On today's show we look at why Mike Maccagnan doesn't draft offensive linemen, whether the Jets made a mistake firing John Morton, whether the team should look at trading for Le'Veon Bell with the price potentially dropping, the most valuable position on defense, whether it is time to start selling off players on this team to the highest bidder, whether now is the time to extend Leonard Williams, and why there is so much inconsistency from teams in the NFL from week to week.
