Locked On Mets - Daily Podcast On The New York Mets

David Peterson established himself as MLB starter in 2022, putting together a rock-solid campaign. Now with him set to take on a larger role in 2023, could the ceiling be even higher for Peterson?

Host Ryan Finkelstein breaks down the ascension we have seen with Peterson over the last few years and why he could become a No. 3 or No. 4 starter that takes the ball in the playoffs next season.

He also discusses what a contract extension for Peterson could look like, as the Mets would be wise to lock him up before he hits arbitration.

When the Los Angeles Dodgers non-tendered Cody Bellinger last week, he became the first former MVP in MLB history to fail to make it to free agency before being cut.

Still at just 27 years old, with All-Star upside and a great floor thanks to his glove in center field, Bellinger is one of the top free agents to bet on this year.

Should the Mets sign him if Brandon Nimmo goes elsewhere?

Host Ryan Finkelstein discusses the rise and fall of Bellinger and projects if there is hope for a resurgence moving forward. Also, could the Mets take the money they would spend on Nimmo and split it up to land both Bellinger and Michael Conforto?
