The Red Sox evened up their series at 1-1 with the Astros with a 6-5 victory Tuesday night at Minute Maid Park. The Red Sox are now 3-3 on their current 7-Game Road Trip that wraps up Wednesday afternoon. The Sox ended a 7-game losing streak against the Astros that dated back to last season.

Have A Night!- Jarren Duran had a huge night at the plate in leading the Red Sox to their 1st win of the season against the Astros. Duran broke a 5-5 tie in the 8th Inning with his 2nd Home Run of the Series and his 17th on the year. Duran led off the game with a Double and went 4-for-4 on the night with a walk and 3 runs scored. Duran now has 68 Extra-Base Hits thru his 1st 123 Games. He leads the American League with 38 Doubles.

Close the Door: Kenley Jansen entered for the 9th Inning (his 4th appearance in 5 games) in a 1-run Game and retired the side in order to close the door on the Sox 66th win of the season. Jansen recorded his 24th save of the season and the 444 of his career.

The Pen Story- Greg Weissert, back up from Triple-A Worcester on Monday, was the 1st out of the Pen for the Red Sox Tuesday night. Weissert worked a 1-2-3 6th Inning with 2 groundouts and a strikeout. Zack Kelly entered for the 7th and like Weissert he worked a perfect inning. Luis Garcia allowed a leadoff single in the 8th, got the 1st out of the inning on a fielder's choice ground out. Garcia got the next 2 hitters on a strikeout and flyout and left the potential tying run at 2nd-Base.

On the Board 1st: The Red Sox led 3-0 3 hitters into the game against Astros starter, Ronel Blanco. Jarren Duran led off the game with a hustle Double and scored on a Double from Wilyer Abreu. Tristan Casas was up next, and he drilled a 2-run Home Run (#7) to right to make it 3-0. It was the 1st Home Run for Casas since coming off the Injured List on Friday. The Homer for Casas was 103.2 off the bat and would have been out of all 30 Big League Parks.

Quick Response: The Astros answered right back in the Bottom of the 1st against Nick Pivetta. Jose Altuve led off with a single, stole 2nd, stole 3rd and scored on a Sacrifice Fly. Jon Singleton tied the game up with a 2-out, 2-run Home Run (#11).

Nick At Night: Astros took their 1st lead of the night in the Bottom of the 2nd against Pivetta and the Sox. Jake Meyers led off the inning with a walk and scored on a Sacrifice Fly from Chas McCormick. Yainer Diaz, who hit a walk-off Home Run Monday night, tied the game at 5 with a solo Home Run off Pivetta in the 5th Inning. It's the 5th straight starter where Pivetta has allowed 2 Home Runs in a game. The Astros had the leadoff man on in 3 of the 1st 5 Innings against Pivetta. He exited after 5 with the game even at 5-5. 

#37's Final Line- 5.0 IP. 6 H. 5 R. 5 ER. 3 BB. 2 K. 2 Home Runs allowed for the 5th straight game.

Tristan's Night: Casas Home Run in the 1st Inning was his 1st since April 19 at Pittsburgh. He gave the Red Sox a 5-4 lead with a 2-out RBI Single in the 4th Inning. Casas has 3 multi-hit games since returning from the IL.

Note On Ceddanne: Ceddanne Rafaela made 2 terrific plays at SS behind Pivetta Tuesday night. The rookie had a 1-out Double in the 2nd Inning. He entered Tuesday with just 1 extra-base hit in his previous 31 Games. It was his 1st Double since July 12th at home against the Royals.

A Look Ahead: The Red Sox and Astros wrap up their 3-Game Series with a day game on Wednesday. 1st pitch at 2:10 p.m. EST. Cooper Criswell and Justin Verlander are the scheduled starters for the finale. Criswell will making his first career appearance against Houston. Justin Verlander is set to be activated from the Injured List on Wednesday. Verlander has not pitched since June 9 and missed time because of neck stiffness. Verlander is expected to be on a pitch count. He has a 3-2 record and a 3.05 ERA in his 10 outings this season.
