The Red Sox tagged Corbin Burnes for a career-high 8 earned runs and in the end managed to hold on for a 12-10 win over the Orioles at Camden Yards Friday night.  Red Sox avoided a 3rd straight loss and evened up the series at 1-1 with the win.  The Red Sox clubbed 4 Home Runs and never trailed at any point in the victory.

Tristan's Back- Tristan Casas was activated from the Injured List and back in the lineup for the Red Sox Friday night.  Casas singled in his 2nd at-bat in the 3rd Inning and scored in front of Rafael Devers, who wacked his 26th Home Run of the season to give the Red Sox a 4-1 advantage.  Casas started an inning-ending 3-6-3 Double Play in the Bottom of the 2nd. He ended up going 1-for-5 with 2 strikeouts on the night.

Kenley Closed The Door: Kenley Jansen struck out 2 and got a groundball out in working a 1-2-3 9th.  Jansen picked up his 23rd save of the season and the 443rd of his Big League career.  It was a bullpen night with the Sox using 8 pitchers.

On the Board First: Like in the opener Thursday night, the Red Sox got on the board 1st and wasted little time in scoring against Orioles starter Corbin Burnes.  Jarren Duran led off the game with an infield single and scored all the way from 1st on a Double from Wilyer Abreu.  Rafael Devers blooped a Double down the rightfield line and that scored Abreu to give the Red Sox a 2-0 lead, 4 hitters into the game.

That's the Devers We Love:  Rafael Devers went 0-for-4 with 3 strikeouts on Thursday night and entered Friday with 2 Home Runs and 11 RBIs in his previous 24 Games. Devers found some real estate down the rightfield line for a hustle RBI Double in the 1st and then hit a 2-run blast in the 3rd.

Lead Lost- Sox went to the Bottom of the 3rd with a 4-1 lead, but Cooper Criswell gave up 3 straight extra-base hits and 3 runs total, all with 2 outs, that allowed the Orioles to even up the game at 4-4. Criswell gave up 2 more runs in the 5th and was charged with 6 earned runs over 3.1 Innings.  He gave up 9 hits and walked 4 hitters.  Bailey Horn entered in the 5th and struck out both hitters that he faced to strand 2 runners.

A Quick Response: Sox answered right back with 4 runs coming across in the Top of the 4th Inning.  Connor Wong had an RBI single, and Masa Yoshida followed with a 3-run Home Run.  All 4 runs in the inning came with 2 outs against Burnes.

Speed Guys Going Yard:  David Hamilton hit a 2-run Home Run and 2 hitters later Jarren Duran hit a solo Home Run in the 7th Inning.  Both came off of Craig Kimbrel.  Duran's Home Run, his 15th, made it 11-6 at the time.

Updating The Home Run Battle:  Orioles hit 1 more Home Run in Game 2 of the series and now lead the Majors with 189.  The Orioles have hit 8 Home Runs in 8 games versus the Red Sox.  Red Sox pitchers have allowed 44 Home Runs over their previous 21 Games & 57 Home Runs over their last 27 Games.

What's Next?: Brayan Bello goes for the Sox Saturday night in the 3rd game of the 4-Game Series.  According to reports, the Orioles will promote Lefty Cade Povich to make the start vs. Bello.  Red Sox are 4-1 in Bello's last 5 outings but he has 5 No-Decisions in those 5 outings.  Bellos last Win- July 14 at Fenway vs. the Royals.  Bello's last Loss- June 25 at home vs. Blue Jays.

Tyler O'Neill missed his 13th straight game on Friday night.  It's expected that O'Neill will be activated from the Injured List and make his return to the lineup on Saturday.

Chase Shugart was optioned to Triple-A on Friday.  The 27-year-old made his MLB Debut when he entered the game out of the Red Sox bullpen in the 6th Inning Thursday night.  Shugart retired both hitters that he faced and struck out Jackson Holliday for his 1st strikeout in the Bigs.  Shugart gave up a run in the 7th and worked a scoreless 8th Inning.
