The Red Sox dropped their 4th in a row with a 7-2 setback to the Mets Tuesday night at Citi Field.  Red Sox are now a game over .500 at 70-69 with 23 games left in the Regular Season.  The Sox have lost 4 in a row for the 7th time this season and for the 4th time since the All-Star break.  The Sox will look to avoid losing a 5th straight game for the 1st time this season and also avoid the series sweep with the finale Wednesday night.

Scuffling at the Dish: Sox collected 6 hits (5 Singles & 1 Triple) in Monday's loss and had 6 hits (all singles) in Tuesday's Loss.  Sox have gone 15 straight games without collecting 10 or more hits in a game.  Club has Single-Digit hit totals in 22 of its last 27 Games.

Kutter's Night on the Hill: Kutter Crawford retired the 1st 7 hitters that he faced before allowing a 1-out walk to Jeff McNeil in the 3rd Inning.  Crawford picked up his 6th strike out of the night for the 2nd out in the 3rd and then gave up a 2-run Home Run to Francisco Lindor to give the Mes a 2-0 lead.  Crawford finished up his night with a 1-2-3 6th Inning.  He ended up with the loss to fall to 8-13.  Red Sox are now 9-20 in Crawford's 29 starts.    

#50's Final Line:  6.0 IP. 1 Hit. 2 R. 2 ER. 2 BB. 8 K. 1 Home Run Allowed.

After Crawford's Exit: Justin Slaten was the 1st reliever out of the pen and he promptly gave up a solo Home Run to Mark Vientos to make a 3-1 deficit for the Sox in the 7th Inning.  It was just the 3rd Home Run allowed on the season for Slaten.  Chris Martin gave up 4 runs in the 8th inning that gave the Mets a 5-run cushion. Francisco Lindor knocked in a run with a Double and Pete Alonso capped the inning with a 2-run Home Run.

On the Board: The Red Sox were shut down over the 1st 4 Innings by Mets starter David Peterson, who celebrated his 29th Birthday on Tuesday. The Sox put together 3 singles in the 5th Inning and brought in their 1st run of the game on an RBI Single from Nick Sogard.  Jarren Duran ended up leading 2 runners stranded by striking out to end the 5th.  Sox got a run in the 8th to make it a 1-run game.  The rally ended with Masa Yoshida hitting into an inning-ending groundball Double Play.

A Look Ahead: The Red Sox conclude their 6-Game Road Trip Wednesday night with the series finale against the Mets. The Red Sox have an off day on Thursday and open up their next Homestand with the 1st of 3 against the Chicago White Sox Friday night at Fenway.  The Red Sox have 23 games left in the Regular Season with 12 more at home and 11 more on the road.
