The Red Sox failed to complete a series sweep over the White Sox on Sunday afternoon and dropped the finale, 7-2, at Fenway Park. It's the 3rd time since the All-Star Break where the Red Sox were unable to pull off a series sweep.  Zack Kelly gave up 5 runs in the 9th Inning and he took the loss.

Fitts Debut: Richard Fitts was told Saturday that he was being called up to make his MLB debut in Sunday's finale against the White Sox. The 24-year-old pitched in front of family and friends and did not allow a run over the 1st 5 Innings and exited with 2 outs in the 6th.  Fitts was charged with 2 runs in his final inning, and both runs were unearned.  Fitts got out of 2 jams by getting inning-ending Double Plays in the 4th and again in the 5th.  He ended up with a no-decision in his 1st start in the Big Leagues.  Fitts is the 9th player and youngest to make his MLB for the Red Sox this season.

Out of the Pen- Greg Weissert, who was also involved in the Red Sox & Yankees trade that sent Alex Verdugo to the Yankees, and Fitts to the Red Sox last offseason, entered with a runner at 3rd in relief of Fitts in the 6th.  Weissert allowed an infield single to Korey Lee that brought in Luis Robert Jr. from third and that gave the White Sox a 2-1 lead.

Quick Response- After falling behind for the 1st time on the day, the Red Sox tied the game at 2-2 on a 2-out, Home Run from Wilyer Abreu in the Home 6th Inning.  It was Abreu's 15th of the season and his 1st in 19 Games.

Sox on the Board 1st:  The Red Sox had Jarren Duran cut down at the plate and Wilyer Abreu caught stealing (1-5) in the 1st Inning.  Sox got on the board with the game's 1st run in the 2nd on a 2-out, solo Home Run from Connor Wong. It was Wong's 13th Home Run of the season and 10th solo shot.

A Look Ahead: The Red Sox open up a 3-Game Series against the Baltimore Orioles Monday night at Fenway Park.  The Red Sox are 3-7 vs. the Orioles this season.  Orioles swept a 3-Game Series at Fenway Park on the 1st Homestand of the season back in April
