The Red Sox were 1 out away from moving to a game over .500 for the 1st time this season at Fenway Park this season. It did not happen.  The Yankees tied the game up against Kenley Jansen in the top of the 9th and scored 3 runs in the top of the 10th against Chase Anderson and evened up the series with an 11-8 victory.  

Red Sox did not score in the bottom of the 10th and left 2 runners in scoring position.  Chase Anderson took the loss.

Before the Blow Save-

Tyler O'Neill led off the home 7th with his 2nd solo Home Run of the game and that put the Red Sox up, 7-6.  Sox would add 1 more run in the inning to go up, 8-6.

Aaron Judge hit a 1-2 pitch from Zack Kelly off the Green Monster in the top of the 8th inning and plated, Alex Verdugo.  Juan Soto ignored the stop sign put up by the 3rd-base coach and was cut down at the plate.  Jarren Duran played the ball off the wall and fired to Ceddanne Rafaela who made a perfect throw to the plate to Connor Wong to cut down Soto for the 2nd out.  Kelly got the next hitter and left Judge stranded at 2nd. 

Kutter & the Long Ball-

The Yankees with 2 home runs in the 1st inning against Kutter Crawford and they led 3-0 three hitters into the game.  Juan Soto hit a 2-run Home Run and Aaron Judge smacked a solo Home Run.  Crawford also gave up a solo Home Run to Oswaldo Cabrera. He's allowed 8 Home Runs over his last 2 starts and 22 in his 1st 21 Starts.  Crawford left with 2 outs in the 5th Inning. Final Line- 4.2 IP. 8 Hits. 5 R. 5 ER. 0 BB. 5 K. 3 Home Runs allowed.

Quick Response- Yankees led 3-0 3 hitters into the game and the Sox came back and tied the game up at 3-3 5 hitters in during their home half of the first inning against Marcus Stroman.  Wilyer Abreu hit a solo Home Run to make it 3-1 and Tyler O'Neill then tied the game up with a 2-run Double.  

Pen-

Brennan Bernardino was the 1st out of the pen for the Red Sox.  He left the bases full in the 5th by striking out Anthony Volpe to end the inning.  Bernardino worked around leadoff Double in the 6th and stranded a runner at 3rd-base.  Josh Winckowski walked 2 in the 7th and left with runners at 1st and 3rd and 1 out.  Cam Booser gave up a sacrifice fly by Ben Rice and that evened the game at 6-6.  Booser eventually stranded 2 base runners.  

Kelly had given up 3 Home Runs in his previous 2 outings entering Friday.  Red Sox used 7 relievers out of the bullpen.       

At the Dish-

Jarren Duran had 2 hits, knocked in a run and scored a run.  Duran has now hit safely in 10 in a row.

Tyler O'Neill hit his 21st Home Run of the season in the 5th put the Red Sox up, 6-5.  It was O'Neill's 5 Home Run in his last 6 games.  He had 3 hits (2B & 2 Home Runs) and 4 RBIs.    
 

In the Field- 

Wilyer Abreu had a (strange) night.  Abreu with the Home Run early on and he nearly robbed Oswaldo Cabrera of a Home Run in the 2nd.  Abreu caught the ball but went over the short-wall down the right-field line and crashed, back first, into the front-row seat and lost the ball out of his glove.  He was shaken up but remained in the game.  He almost made a nice catch on a Double from Alex Verdugo in the 5th, but couldn't not make the catch in front of the bullpens in right-field.

In the 6th, 2B David Hamilton fielded a ground ball around the 2nd-base bag and jumped over the runner Trent Grishman, trying to get back to the base at 2nd and Hamilton was able to get the out at 1st.

Sunday's game between the Yankees and Red Sox will be the final regular season meeting in Boston for the regular season.    

Each hitter in the starting lineup had at least 1 hit in the win.  7 different hitters scored at least 1 run.
