The Red Sox were swept in a 3-game series in Los Angels by the Dodgers after losing the finale, 9-6, on Sunday night.  It's the 3rd time this season where the Sox have been swept in a series and the second time on the road.

The Red Sox led 2-0 against James Paxton and the Dodgers 3 pitches into the game.  Romy Gonzalez attacked the first pitch of the game and doubled to left field.  Jarren Duran took an 0-1 pitch from Paxton and hit a 2-run Home Run to left.  It was Duran's 2nd homer of the series and 12th on the season.

The Dodgers scored 2 runs with 2 outs off of Kutter Crawford in the bottom of the 1st inning.  Freddie Freeman made it 2-1 with a solo Home Run, his 2nd of the series.  Gavin Lux, 2 hitters later, tied the game at 2 with a double.  The Dodgers played Home Run Derby against Crawford over the next 4 innings.

Teoscar Hernandez gave the Dodgers a 3-2 lead with a solo Home Run in the 3rd.  Gavin Lux hit a solo HR in the 4th.  Austin Barnes and Shohei Ohtani hit solo shots in the 5th.  Ohtani's Home Run was his 30th of the season and it traveled 473 Feet.

Crawford went 5 innings and took the loss. He gave up 6 earned runs on 7 hits (5 HR).  It's Crawford's first loss since June 21.  

Bailey Horn and Chase Anderson both worked scoreless innings.  Kenley Jansen, working in his 2nd straight game, allowed 3 runs in the bottom of the 8th inning.  Jason Heyward hit the Dodgers 6th home run of the game with a 2-out, 2-run Home Run off Jansen. 

Sox had the first 3 batters reach in the 9th and Duran capped his terrific series off with a 2-run double that made it 9-5.  Duran had 6 hits in the series, 5 extra-base hits and 7 RBIs.  Daniel Hudson came on in relief in the 9th and entered with the bases loaded and 1 out. Masa Yoshida reached on a fielder's choice and picked up an RBI to make it a 3-run game.  Hudson retired Wilyer Abreu on a fly out to end the game.        

Rafael Devers went 0-for-4 with 3 strikeouts and a walk Sunday night and went 1-for-12 in the series.

Red Sox hitters struck out 14 times in the loss and went 5-for-39 with RISP and left 25 runners on base over the 3 games at Dodger Stadium.
