Locked On Saints - Daily Podcast On The New Orleans Saints

The New Orleans Saints should see their offensive line back at full strength with Erik McCoy and Terron Armstead looking ready to play against the Seattle Seahawks on Monday Night Football. How much of an impact can they have? The Saints are single-digits away from being top-five in major offensive line metrics, their returns could boost them above.

The Saints will be without two major contributors on offense, WR Deonte Harris, and QB/Offensive Weapon Taysom Hill. It will take multiple players to make up for their lost production, but the Saints may have the talent to get it done. How Kenny Stills, Adam Trautman, and others can help.

The Saints will need big performances from some top talent on the offensive and defensive sides to win in Seattle. Regardless of whether Geno Smith or Russell Wilson were throwing passes, there's a big test ahead of Marshon Lattimore, Marcus Williams and the Saints' secondary with DK Metcalf and Tyler Lockett in primetime.

The New Orleans Saints look to get healthier as Marcus Davenport, Tre'Quan Smith, Kwon Alexander, and others are designated to return from Injured Reserve. While there's no guarantee they'll be ready to hit the field on Monday night, getting any of these players back in the next few weeks has major implications for both their offense and defense.

The Saints have been uniquely successful on the road, and it doesn't just come down to win-loss records. How takeaways have set the Saints apart from the rest of the league while on the road and how forcing multiple turnovers impacts their ability to win.

The Saints will look to focus on the run game on the road, but there should be a lot of opportunities to continue attacking through the air. The run game can help set that up for Jameis Winston, who's been working on how to maximize Alvin Kamara and the short passing game during the bye week. How a quick start can help neutralize the 12th man in Seattle and limit the Seahawks' rushing attack.

The New Orleans Saints are hoping to get healthier this week even without star WR Michael Thomas. Marcus Davenport, Kwon Alexander, Tre'Quan Smith, and more have all been designated to return from injured reserve over the last few days. What is their impact on the Saints-Seattle Seahawks matchup?

How have the Seahawks navigated games without Russell Wilson under center thus far? Geno Smith potentially brings a unique skillset from Wilson to the Seahawks offense as a taller pocket passer, but the Saints defense has been stellar all season and will look to take advantage of his decision making issues.

What the Saints and Seahawks will need to do to get a win in Seattle on Monday Night Football comes down to protecting the ball, protecting the passer, and taking advantage of opportunities quickkly.

The New Orleans Saints are now through their bye week and their first quarter of the NFL Season. As the early season comes to an end Ricardo LeCompte of WWL-TV joins to talk Offensive and Defensive MVPs, Most underrated player, biggest surprises and disappointments, and more!

Jameis Winston leads off the group as the offensive MVP. With 12 touchdowns and 3 interceptions, has Winston exceeded expectations so far? Will Marshon Lattimore or Demario Davis claim defensive MVP?

Looking ahead to the Seattle Seahawks Monday Night matchup, the importance of a 4-2 start to the season and why even without Russell Wilson, traveling to Seattle to take on a Geno Smith-lead Seattle Seahawks team won't be an easy task for the Saints.

Rod Walker of the Times-Picayune | New Orleans Advocate joins to talk about what the New Orleans Saints have done well, where they are set to improve, and how much more the offensive will open up for Jameis Winston.

Rod and Ross also discuss the injured players making their returns soon for the Saints. Michael Thomas, Erik McCoy, and Terron Armstead are set to have an enormous impact on the offense while David Onyemata should help to bolster the Saints pass rush, likely their biggest improvement area.

Looking ahead to the Seattle Seahawks, how important a win would be for the Saints, and what it will take to get it, even without Russell Wilson under center for Seattle.

How will the New Orleans Saints be impacted by WR Michael Thomas's return? Will the Saints try to forcefeed the all-pro receiver or will they use hm as a decoy on the field once he's back in the black and gold?

Will the Saints start Pete Werner or Kwon Alexander at WILL Linebacker once Alexander makes his return? How Werner's college experience at the position gives him a real chance in the future with the team. What the Saints value most, consistency or playmaking, should be the deciding factor between the two talented backers.

Can the Saints make a push for the playoffs in the second half of the season? And many more of your listener questions answered!

The New Orleans Saints are set to return Michael Thomas, David Onyemata, Wil Lutz, and other very important pieces soon after this week's bye week. What kind of impact with they each have? Michael Thomas allows the team to extend drives, and helps to deliver in an area of the field the Saints and Jameis Winston have not produced steadily so far this season.

David Onyemata brings the presence of a top-5 pass rusher back to the Saints interior line, thus generating better pressure on opposing QBs and opening up opportunities for other players around him. Cam Jordan, Marcus Davenport (when he returns), Payton Turner, and Carl Granderson should all see benefit from Onyemata's long-awaited season debut.

Wil Lutz, recently injured players like Deonte Harris and Taysom Hill, Erik McCoy, Terron Armstead, Nick Vannett, Kwon Alexander, and others all have the chance to return over the next few weeks following the Saints' bye. This will allow the team to carry more depth, and improve in all areas, even where they've already performed well through the first quarter of the season.

The New Orleans Saints have had a roller coaster of a season thus far. Breaking down their first quarter of the season reveals where they've been strong and where there's still room to improve. Jameis Winston and the New Orleans Saints may not be putting up a ton of yards, but they're scoring at a top-5 clip in terms of passing touchdowns. Meanwhile Alvin Kamara and the injured offensive line are still rushing at a top-10 rate.

On the defensive side, putting together a stronger pass rush has been the main focus of evaluation over the first quarter of the year. Can the Saints improve that area of the defense even before the returns of David Onyemata and Marcus Davenport? Meanwhile on offense, the Saints will look to find a way to string together longer drives and take more time off the clock.

Michael Thomas, David Onyemata, and Wil Lutz are obvious boosts to get back for the team. But any and all players returning have the ability to help set the Saints up for noticeable improvements.

The New Orleans Saints should have had two players of the week this week. While Marshon Lattimore capped off a tremendous performance against former Ohio State University Buckeye teammate Terry McLaurin with a Defensive Player of the Week win, Blake Gillikin's remarkable day goes uncelebrated by the NFL. Why Blake Gillikin deserved the award, what he achieved that no one has since the year 2000, and how Marshon Lattimore's award is confirmed in the numbers and on tape.

The Saints have only 8 sacks on the season, good for second to last in the NFL through five games. How double-teams on the edge have slowed down the typically production pass rush and how getting DT David Onyemata and EDGE Marcus Davenport back in the mix soon helps Cam Jordan, Carl Granderson, and Payton Turner.

WWL-TV's Brooke Kirchhofer joins to talk about what the Saints have done so far this season, how the bye week turned out to be right on time, and what happens next as the team gets healthier. Celebrating Demario Davis and Marshon Lattimore for their standout starts to the season.

The New Orleans Saints defense has been outstanding so far this season, led by the remarkable performance of cornerback Marshon Lattimore. Not only was his performance in Sunday's win against the Washington Football Team impressive, but it's a continuation of the remarkable production he's displayed in season action so far. With a league-leading 10 pass break ups, 11 forced incompletions, and a whopping 39% forced incompletion percentage, is Marshon Lattimore putting up a defensive Player of the Year bid early this season?

How the New Orleans Saints have been evolving their offensive attack so far this season and how personnel usage, pass, and run percentages tell us what we need to know and how the return of players like Michael Thomas, Tre'Quan Smith, and even Nick Vannett in.

The Saints are first and ted first in two major categories on the offensive and defensive side that immediately complement one another and have immediately led to their three wins. While their offensive efficiency currently remains along the middle of the league, there are some good signs for a continued climb as the team gets healthier while Marcus Williams, Demario Davis, and rest of the Saints defense continue to surpass expectations.
