Locked On SEC – Daily College Football & Basketball Podcast

On today's show, we recap some of last minute moves on National Signing Day in the SEC. Texas A&M made two late additions in nailing #1 athlete and five star Terry Bussey, as well as former Arkansas commit in WR Ashton Bethel-Roman. LSU nailed down former A&M commit in five-star defensive lineman Dominick McKinley, while Alabama got the official signature from five-star WR Ryan Williams. Also, Kentucky added LB Quintavion Norman on Wednesday, and we give you the final recruiting class rankings from across the SEC.

We also discuss the big news that Nick Saban is joining the cast of College Gameday, and will also contribute across multiple platforms at ESPN like their NFL Draft coverage, as well as SEC Media Days. What does Saban's addition mean for the future of Lee Corso and Pat McAfee?

And we run through the story that top QB Dylan Raiola flipped from Georgia to Nebraska, and ESPN's Kirk Herbstreit may have had a hand in the flip?

On today's show, we discuss the news that the SEC and Big 10 are teaming up to form an advisory group that will explore some "common sense solutions" when it comes to issues currently facing college football. Both commissioners in Greg Sankey and Tony Petitti sound off on what they're hoping to accomplish, as we wonder if the NCAA's days are numbered. Pending current NIL investigations with Tennessee and Florida, Sankey and the SEC have to be wondering is the NCAA helping or hindering progress?

Also, we catch you up on the news Around The Conference as Alabama could lose new OC Ryan Grubb to the NFL already, we highlight some SEC guys who stood out in the Reese's Senior Bowl down in Mobile, and Kentucky loses OC Liam Coen to the NFL AGAIN!

And we bring you the media session with new Alabama head coach Kalen DeBoer from last week at the Senior Bowl as he spoke to the media for several minutes answering a ton of questions surrounding the Crimson Tide as they prepare for spring football.

On today's show, we react to the breaking news this week that the Tennessee Vols are under investigation by the NCAA, and the school is fighting back. The reported investigation pertains to NIL and Tennessee, in relation to their collective. How many college fans really care nowadays? NIL is here to stay, and just about every school likely has some kind of skeletons in their closets. Kudos to Tennessee for fighting back on the NCAA.

Also, we are here at the Senior Bowl in Mobile - we're catching up with a bunch of former SEC stars like Texas A&M WR Ainias Smith, Alabama defensive lineman Justin Eboigbe and Kentucky defensive back Andru Phillips. We talk with all three about their week at the Senior Bowl and preparing for the NFL Draft.

Lastly, we catch you up on the latest news Around The Conference as Alabama sets a date for their spring game, Hugh Freeze hires DJ Durkin as his defensive coordinator, and much more!

On today's show, we discuss Alabama head coach Kalen DeBoer landing his first big fish in recruiting since joining the Tide, as five-star WR Ryan Williams recommits to Bama after some thought he could flip to Auburn. DeBoer also discusses the roster fluidity with Pat McAfee, and ESPN puts out their Way-Too-Early All-America team for 2024.

Michigan Coach Jim Harbaugh jumps to the NFL, but what affect does that have on the SEC? Put to bed any thought that Brian Kelly could jump there. But it does pose an interesting question - with Saban and Harbaugh gone, who is the face of college football? Kirby? Dabo? Lane?

And some Bama fans have been critical of Greg McElroy, saying he's too negative when it comes to his alma mater. It brings up an interesting conversation of national broadcasters and the school they attended - the job calls for being unbiased, and fans need to recognize that.
