Mike Grier had a very busy offseason to try and continue the San Jose Sharks rebuild. Which players left the organization and where are they now, plus a look at the Sharks acquisitions and a common theme with nearly all of their signings and trades. Next, which Sharks players are locks to be on the roster (if they are still on the team), including newcomers Filip Zadina, Kyle Burroughs, Mackenzie Blackwood, and Anthony Duclair (10:30). Then why William Eklund and Luke Kunin are probable to be on the roster to start the season (15:00), and the final spots that could be up for grabs between Radim Simek, Thomas Bordeleau, and Nikolai Knyzhov (17:00)? Finally, the way too early line combos for game one with and without Erik Karlsson (22:00).

Does Erik Karlsson to the Pittsburgh Penguins make too much sense for it not to work? Hunter Hodies of Locked on Penguins joins to try and figure out a trade between the San Jose Sharks and the Penguins. We discuss the parallels between when the Sharks acquired Erik Karlsson from the Ottawa Senators and if the Penguins acquired the reigning Norris Trophy winner. Next, we discuss the fit between Karlsson and Pittsburgh and how Karlsson can help provide more offense. We also discuss Karlsson's lack of defense and how he was asked to carry the Sharks' offense. Finally, Hunter and JD try to hammer out a beneficial trade between both teams based on what the Sharks are looking for and what the Penguins have.

Erik Karlsson confirmed over the weekend that he has spoken to several teams about a potential trade. Start by analyzing his interview with Adam Johansson of Expressen and some of the key items to take from it, including speaking with the Seattle Kraken and Toronto Maple Leafs and the Carolina Hurricanes, and Pittsburgh Penguins. Next, review some of the potential trades from each of the prospective teams and what the return could be. Start with the Penguins, and if a few picks, Ty Smith and Samuel Poulin would be enough for Mike Grier (11:00). Then how the Carolina Hurricanes could off some more intriguing prospects in Jackson Blake and Jack Drury with the same pick package (15:30)? Next if the Seattle Kraken would be willing to offer Shane Wright in a trade if they don't have to offer any draft picks (23:00)? Finally, would the Erik Karlsson for William Nylander one-for-one destroy the internet (27:30)?

Do the San Jose Barracuda have a culture problem? Start by reacting to Martin Kaut's Czechia interview, where he accused the Barracuda staff of trying to make him fight in every game and why this is a huge issue. Then look at the exodus of veteran talent from the San Jose Barracuda, including Andrew Agozzino's trade, Derrick Pouliot, CJ Suess, Jeffrey Viel, Aaron Dell, and Kyle Criscuolo all leaving the organization, and why it's odd that none of them wanted to return for another season (10:30). Finally, some of the cultural issues I've heard include not caring for the players and their families and why this could have long-term ramifications for the Sharks (20:00).

San Jose Sharks legendary radio announcer Dan Rusanowsky joins the show to discuss his upcoming induction into the Hockey Hall of Fame and how he got into broadcasting. Dan also delves into how emotional of a night Patrick Marleau's jersey retirement was and the parallels between when the Sharks drafted Marleau and the rebuild that is happening now (12:00). I also get help from Dan on how to pronounce Russian names (20:00), and Dan gives some of his favorite and least favorite places to call a game at (24:00).

Hadi Kalakeche of Locked on NHL Prospects and Dobber Prospects joins to discuss the San Jose Sharks draft class. We start with Will Smith and what he will need to continue to develop at Boston College and why Quentin Musty will turn into a steal for the Sharks. Next, Hadi gives his scouting report on Kasper Halttunen, and we discuss if he should stay in Liiga or play for the London Knights next season (10:30). Then, why was Luca Cagnoni such a smart pick at 123, and why his Hockey IQ sets him apart (15:00). Finally, Hadi gives his opinion on Brandon Svoboda and Yegor Rimashevskiy and grades Mike Grier's picks (19:00).

The San Jose Sharks have been the center of many of the rumblings and rumors over the past couple of weeks, none bigger than the Erik Karlsson trade. Get caught up on the latest surrounding Karlsson, including if it makes sense for the Pittsburgh Penguins and the Carolina Hurricanes and what the potential hold-up is for everyone involved (it's money). Next, the San Jose Sharks have apparently in on signing free agent Vladimir Tarasenko. Does it make sense for San Jose as a short-term option to help establish Tarasenko's status and give the Sharks another trade asset (11:30)? Finally, there was a reported deal on the table involving Kevin Labanc for Vancouver Canucks defenseman Tyler Myers (who is very tall); why Mike Grier shouldn't do this deal (20:00).

London Knights Scout and owner of Sully Hockey, Billy Sullivan, joins the podcast to talk about two of his clients, Quentin Musty and Brandon Svoboda, and what the San Jose Sharks are getting in each player. We start with Musty and what type of player and competitor he is and what Billy thinks Musty will need to continue to work on. We also theorize why Musty dropped to the Sharks at 26. Next, Billy discusses how he has known Brandon Svoboda since Brandon was a kid and how his upside might be higher than what people are projecting (15:00). Finally, we chat about developing players in the OHL vs. NCAA and how Billy helps prospects prepare for each (24:00).

If and when Erik Karlsson gets traded, who will run the power play for the San Jose Sharks? Look at some potential in-house options to replace the massive minutes logged by Karlsson, including Matt Benning and Mario Ferraro, and why they could be options, but there are unknown players with more potential. Next, if Henry Thrun can recreate the dominant Harvard power play in the NHL (11:00) and if Leon Gawanke is the dark horse to win the job after leading the Manitoba Moose's unit (14:30). Also, examine if Matt Dumba is a worthy candidate (17:30) and if Caleb Jones would be worth a flyer (22:00) and finish with the chaos theory of just playing a five-forward unit consisting of Logan Couture, Tomas Hertl, William Eklund, Anthony Duclair, and Filip Zadina (25:00).
