Roope Hintz set the NHL on fire last season when he scored 37 points for the Dallas Stars. His arrival may have been a surprise too many hockey fans, but Stars fans have always known he was special. Today we take a look back at what he's done throughout the early stages of his career and dive into how he is able to consistently increase his production. We discuss what a successful season would look like for Roope this year. How many goals will he need to score? Who will he be playing his shifts with? Is he REALLY the best all-around player on the Stars? To close, we talk about Mathew Barzal's new contract and how it effects the Jason Robertson holdout. Also, the Stars play another preseason game today in Colorado. We cover that and more on today's show!

The Dallas Stars fell the the Colorado Avalanche in their fifth preseason game of 2022. Denis Gurianov tried to get on the scoreboard with a goal but the team fell short despite his efforts. Denis has fallen under the radar this preseason, but he has a VERY big season ahead of him. He will be an RFA this summer, and we will see how he bounces back from an inconsistent season in ’21-’22. We also take a look at the Stars special teams and try to figure out why the Stars can’t score despite getting a plethora of scoring chances. To close, we continue to sing the praises of Nils Lundkvist and catch up on the Jason Robertson situation.

The Dallas Stars played in their fourth preseason game on Saturday night. They travelled to Kansas City, Missouri for a date with the St. Louis Blues. The Dallas offense was firing on all cylinders as they posted five goals. The team was led by Mason Marchment (1 goal 1 assist) and Will Butcher (3 assists). Colin Miller also had a nice night as he continues to push for an NHL roster spot with the Stars. We discuss the Stars recent waiver moves and talk about the incoming cuts that will be made this week as start to get a better view of the opening night roster. To close we preview tonight’s exhibition matchup between the Stars and Colorado Avalanche.

The Dallas Stars played in their third Preseason game last night against the Minnesota Wild. On the surface there may not be much you can take away from a 5-2 loss, but there were some good things that happened in the game. Ty Dellandrea and Nils Lundkvist both scored very nice goals that should encourage the Stars fanbase. Unfortunately, Dellandrea left the game early with a broken finger that will prevent him from playing for a couple of weeks. In fact, we saw a handful of Stars players get banged up in a game that had zero significance. We talk about that as well as the Stars inconsistent play in their defensive zone. To close we talk about Jason Robertson and why we should maybe start to get nervous about where he will play this season.

It's no secret that the Dallas Stars have been missing consistent offensive production from their defensemen in recent years. Today we ask the question, can that trend finally change? Before we answer, we have to look at where the Stars have been. Many have pointed out that one of the flaws of Rick Bowness' coaching strategy was misusing his defensemen, mainly John Klingberg. Why did Klinger suffer statistically over the past couple of seasons? Can Pete DeBoer be the coach who finally changes the Stars offensive woes for the better? What has he done in the past that shows us he can lead these Stars blue-liners to greatness? We also discuss Miro Heiskanen and how important this season is for him as he steps into the role of number one defenseman on the Dallas Stars roster.

The Dallas Stars played in their second preseason game on Tuesday night against the Arizona Coyotes. Newcomer Mason Marchment led the charge with two goals including the game-winner in overtime. Joel Kiviranta also record two points (an assist and an unassisted SHG). The bulk of today’s show is dedicated to another burning question concerning the 2022-2023 Dallas Stars. Today we discuss Joe Pavelski, and how likely it is that we see him have a season similar to the one he just had, where he set a new career high in points. We look back at NHL legends who played well at age 38 and talk about what factors will effect the kind of season Pavs will have.

The Dallas Stars played their first preseason game of the 2022-2023 NHL campaign at home against the St. Louis Blues. Despite getting beat 4-0, there were plenty of positives to take note of. For starters, the kids are very good. Wyatt Johnston and Logan Stankoven played some fantastic shifts alongside Jamie Benn. The trio put immense pressure on the Blues defense and produced a plethora of great looks at the net. Anton Khudobin made his first appearance since having surgery on his hip and looked very serviceable. Jake Oettinger would take over the game after the first period and put together a solid outing. We also discuss the performances of guys like Marian Studenic and Ty Dellandrea and look ahead to tonight’s tilt against the Arizona Coyotes.

The Dallas Stars began training camp on Thursday morning. 61 players reported to Cedar Park, Texas to kick off the 2022-2023 Texas Hockey season. Today Dane talks with Dallas Stars beat writer Sam Nestler (from Dallas Hockey Now) to talk about everything that happened on day one. What was camp like under the leadership of Pete DeBoer? What did the line groupings look like? Which trios stood out? Were there any noteworthy defensive duos on the ice? What are the expectations for young defensemen like Thomas Harley and Nils Lundkvist?

The Dallas Stars open training camp today with on-ice sessions in Cedar Park, Texas. There are dozens of players that will be fun to watch during the next several weeks. Today we dive into three specific players that you should keep an eye on during camp as well as Stars preseason games. Ty Dellandrea is a player that every Stars fan is familiar with, and he's going to be competing for a full-time roe on the NHL roster during camp after an impressive performance in game seven against the Calgary Flames.

Matej Blümel is an under-the-radar type of player who the Stars acquired through free agency this offseason. Blümel was the 100th overall pick by the Edmonton Oilers back in 2019 and has shown some flashes of excellence in a small sample size of North American hockey. He recently scored a hat trick in the Traverse City tournament last week and will be looking to carry that momentum into training camp.

Christian Kyrou was taken in round 2 of the 2022 NHL draft and while he won't play in the NHL this year, it will be very fun to see how he stacks up to current Stars defensemen as well as other defensemen in the NHL.
