The easiest thing in the world for us to do when things are bad is to focus on the negatives. The Arizona State Sun Devils football team has been very bad, to put it politely, and fans and the like have had a hard time holding back their feelings for frustration towards the staff and the players. This podcast has been widely critical of the program, but that won't be the case today. Instead, host Richie Bradshaw celebrates some of the breakout stars for the Arizona State Sun Devils football team on this edition of the Locked On Sun Devils podcast. Players like Xazavian Valladay and Elijah Badger have stepped up big time in large roles for the offense and without them there would be very little positives on that side of the ball. Defensively, there are several players who are playing well in spite of the unit's shortcomings, including Kyle Soelle, Chris Edmonds, and Nesta Jade Silvera. Tune in to his edition of the Locked On Sun Devils podcast and celebrate some of these players with us!

The Arizona State Sun Devils football program has a lot to work on moving forward following a 1-3 start to the 2022 campaign and facing a road that has anything but guarantees moving forward. Following the firing of former head coach Herm Edwards, running backs coach Shaun Aguano was promoted to be the interim head coach and take on the massive responsibility of getting this Arizona State Sun Devils football team back on track. This feels like a seemingly impossible task, but it falls on Aguano regardless of whether it's fair or not. Moving forward, we would like to see Aguano work on three things: offensive identity, defensive consistency, and a continued increase in team morale that we have already seen improve. Tune in as host Richie Bradshaw shares the details of what Aguano needs to work on with this Arizona State Sun Devils football team moving forward with examples of how and more on this edition of the Locked On Sun Devils podcast.

While the Arizona State Sun Devils football program was certainly not favored in this PAC-12 conference matchup against the then-#13 Utah Utes football, the way they were beaten was humbling, to put it softly. The Utes did anything and everything they wanted to do against the Sun Devils offensively, as the team controlled the game clock for over 35 minutes with a power run game and incredibly efficient passing on offense. Defensively, Utah was just as dominant in bringing down Emory Jones five times and picking the quarterback off twice. Considering Arizona State didn't score its lone touchdown until the fourth when the game was more than out of reach for the Sun Devils, it's fair to say that the Utes executed their game plan perfectly. Host Richie Bradshaw has some thoughts about this game and some frustration to put out there about the state of this team and its grim outlook moving forward. Tune in to this edition of the Locked On Sun Devils podcast and catch up on the blowout in Tempe, AZ last Saturday night.

It's game day, Arizona State Sun Devils fans! Not just game day, but the Arizona State Sun Devils football team will have its debut PAC-12 football conference play kickoff against the #13 Utah Utes football program in Tempe, AZ. It's one helluva way to open PAC-12 conference play, but the Arizona State Sun Devils appear to be welcoming the challenge. A challenge would be an understatement for this game, however, as the Utes open up as 15-point favorites per our friends at BetOnline, and rightfully so. The Utes are a dominating team offensively and defensively and feel they have a lot to prove as PAC_12 conference play opens up. If the Utes come into this game sleeping on the Sun Devils, the latter will be hoping to make them pay for that. Host Richie Bradshaw goes into a gameplan for offense and defense for the Arizona State Sun Devils football team to use for an upset victory including smash mouth football with Xazavian Valladay and Emory Jones and silencing Tavion Thomas and the dynamic tight end duo of Brant Kuithe and Dalton Kincaid. It is never too early to start dreaming about your perfect head coach when your team is searching for one. This is the predicament that Arizona State Sun Devils football fans find themselves in following the termination of Herm Edwards's position as head coach of the Arizona State Sun Devils football program. With Edwards gone, AD Ray Anderson has promoted running backs coach Shaun Aguano as the team's interim head coach, but that does anything but promise him the job for 2023. So, who could the Sun Devils fancy as their next head coach? Host Richie Bradshaw has a slew of names that come to mind ranging from superstar names like Deion Sanders to lesser-known guys like Todd Munken. Don't be surprised if the Sun Devils take a chance on a younger guy like Kenny Dillingham, but we could also see the return of former college head coaches like Tom Herman, Bill O'Brien, or even Matt Rhule if he is fired from the Carolina Panthers. Maybe Arizona State could swing someone established like Matt Campbell from Iowa State? They won't know until they try, but these are the guys Richie Bradshaw has in mind! Tune in to this edition of the Locked On Sun Devils podcast to hear his take on these guys AND MORE!

The long-awaited decision to move on from Herm Edwards as the head coach of the Arizona State Sun Devils football team came much earlier than originally anticipated following the Sun Devils crushing home loss to the Eastern Michigan Eagles. This loss dropped the Sun Devils to 1-2 on the season with a frustratingly difficult schedule looming ahead. Rather than suffer through what might be a miserable season with Edwards at the helm, athletic director Ray Anderson opted to move on without his friend and promoted running backs coach Shaun Aguano to be the team's interim head coach. Now that the move is over, what comes next for Arizona State Sun Devils football? What direction should they take for their head coaching search and who could be a potential candidate? Host Richie Bradshaw discusses all of this and more on this edition of the Locked On Sun Devils podcast.

To call Saturday's loss to the Eastern Michigan Eagles football program would be one of the greatest understatements in the history of Arizona State Sun Devils football. The Sun Devils were 20+ point favorites and had crushed another smaller program in NAU to start the season 40-3. Coming off a 34-17 loss to Oklahoma State, there was little reason to think that Arizona State was going to lay an egg against a small school like Eastern Michigan, but alas that is exactly what happened. The Sun Devils got taken behind the woodshed by Samson Evans and the Eagles and lost at home 30-21. The loss was so bad, in fact, that head coach Herm Edwards was relieved of his duties as early as Sunday afternoon. The Arizona State Sun Devils football team has now been put into flux and a seemingly endless free fall that will make this a tough season to get through. While we don't want to begin our "the end is nigh" chants on Mill Ave., there are a lot of important conversations that need to be had regarding the state and future of the Arizona State Sun Devils football program. Before we get there though, host Richie Bradshaw goes through what happened during the Sun Devils' loss to the Eagles on this edition of the Locked On Sun Devils podcast.
