Locked On Titans - Daily Podcast On The Tennessee Titans

The 2026 NFL Draft is just three weeks away, and the Tennessee Titans are officially on the clock at No. 4 overall. Do they take the transcendent prospect in Notre Dame RB Jeremiyah Love, or do they address the edge with Texas Tech powerhouse David Bailey? We’re breaking down the ultimate draft dilemma: do you go with the "fun" pick or the "smart" pick?

The Tennessee Titans have many needs in the NFL Draft, but one they should not be addressing early is tight end. This is a very deep class at the position and with the Titans other demands, taking one early would just be silly. Looking for the mid/late round steals is what the Titans front office should be doing and depending on the kind of player they want, there will be plenty of options. There are more receiving-only options available, but also a lot of blocking-centric options as well. Day 3 would be the perfect time to strike on a tight end this year, but certainly not before.

The Tennessee Titans have much bigger needs than offensive tackle, but if the right name fell to the second round, like Caleb Lomu, Blake Miller or Kadyn Proctor, the Titans would have to pounce considering the uncertainty of the future of Dan Moore at left tackle. However, they could always wait for more of a developmental option in the mid-rounds like Dametrious Crownover, Markel Bell and JC Davis. More importantly, the Titans have been sniffing around Day 3 offensive tackles as of late like Tristan Leigh and Travis Burke, which could mean they are targeting more the end of the draft for that tackle development project.

The Tennessee Titans made four signings on Wednesday all on the offensive side of the ball, Hendon Hooker, Michael Carter, KJ Osborn and Lance McCutcheon, and that brings their roster total to 78 players, give or take. Add in the expected nine draftees they will add in a few weeks and that gets you very close to the limit of 90 players. That would be fine, but typically teams will load up on 10 or more undrafted free agents each year. That means either the Titans plan on a mass exodus soon or they don't intend to be very active in the undrafted free agent pool, which would be a surprise.

The Tennessee Titans absolutely MUST take a wide receiver on Day 2 of the NFL Draft if they, as expected, pass on receiver in Round 1. With the expected names, Chris Brazzell, Chris Bell, Germie Bernard, likely available, the Titans need to come away from one of the options. If the Titans pass on the top options, names like Ted Hurst, De'Zhaun Stribling and Skyler Bell become instant targets. Finally, if the Titans truly pass on all of these needed names, what is left early on Day 3 is a rough list of Ja'Kobi Lane and Bryce Lance.

The Tennessee Titans need help at wide receiver and the consensus top option in the NFL Draft is Carnell Tate. Tate may not seem like a likely selection at pick #4, but there are a lot of reason to think he could make sense with Cam Ward. However, there are some reasons to doubt whether Tate will ever become a player worthy of a selection that high. Also, the Titans added two depth pieces on Wednesday including quarterback Hendon Hooker, formerly of the Tennessee Volunteers. This is a move that has some comedy to it, but nonetheless is a smart move by the Titans to get a development player at the position who also makes the fans happy. KJ Osborn is also just a depth add, but those are needed as well.

The Tennessee Titans need to get Cam Ward an elite receiver to maximize his potential and there are only six receiving prospects in the NFL Draft that could do that for Ward in Year One. Starting with Jordyn Tyson and Carnell Tate, with KC Concepcion, Omar Cooper, Makai Lemon and Denzel Boston following after, the Titans can get one of these sensational six at many different points early in the draft. Tyson and Tate most likely would need to be in the top 10, but Lemon, Cooper and possibly Concepcion may be more mid-round options in a trade back scenario. Boston could potentially slip to the second round and would be an ideal pick at #35.

The Tennessee Titans are just a few weeks out from making their pick at the top of the NFL Draft and on Monday Titans general manager Mike Borgonzi spoke about taking the "best player available." Lovestruck Titans fans(pun intended) took that as a clear sign Jeremiyah Love would be the pick for the Titans, but the reality is that answer means nothing and everyone clinging to it has their mind in the wrong place. Especially after Robert Saleh spoke on Tuesday and called edge rushers "playmakers" and praised the Titans current running back room. This sets the Love vs. Edge back to square one. Both Borgonzi and Saleh also talked about competition on the offensive line at guard and center and entertained the idea of starting two rookies in those spots.

The Tennessee Titans are officially on the clock with the No. 4 overall pick, and the debate in Nashville is heating up. Much of the draft discourse has centered on the transcendent talent of Notre Dame's Jeremiyah Love or a blue-chip EDGE rusher to pair with Jeffery Simmons. However, with an urgent need for a true WR1 to elevate Cam Ward, should General Manager Mike Borgonzi look at a playmaker instead?

The Tennessee Titans may draft Jeremiyah Love in the first round of the NFL Draft and would be a wise pick, but if they don't, there is no need to force a running back pick on Day 2. The Titans have far too many serious needs and Love is a unique case that other running backs don't present. When it is wise to go after a running back though, on Day 3 of the draft, the Titans could look to strike. Maybe names like Mike Washington or Jadarian Price won't be available, but Emmet Johnson, Jonah Coleman or Nicolas Singleton could be, as well as numerous other specific players that will be there much later on will be on the board. Running backs isn't a necessity in this year's draft, but the Titans need to play the value game as well.
