LOST IN THE LABELS episodes

  • 186. What's landing on you?

One of the most difficult parts of my job is when I have to be mean. When I have to negatively label someone based on the ways in which they've informed me that they are offended, hurt or rattled. Today's episode is arguably one of the most important episodes for EMBLDN Label and the very basis of why the content that we create is necessary.

So... What's landing on you? Email me at [email protected] if this episode prompts something in you that feels like an emotional trigger or sunburn.

Today we begin to explore a subject that will be further unpacked in the community. The memory that you store based on the experiences you have are stored in your conscious mind by emotions.

  • 184. Therapy vs. Coaching

Therapy is designed to pull up the past, understand it and heal the deepest hurts you've experienced.

Coaching is designed to push you past what's holding you back into the future YOU, that you desire.

There's one BIG problem. There's a gap between coaching and therapy. I'm not sure it has a name... maybe paralysis, discomfort, fear of failure... who knows?!

Regardless of "its" title, there's a big leap between understanding what has hurt you and deciding you're ready to let it go and show up differently. This year, after recognizing time and time again that my clients couldn't move past certain labels, I got certified in a Christian based inner healing modality. It has CHANGED my life and my clients lives too. It allows us to work together more efficiently, puling up emotional triggers and learning how to heal and dodge them.

  • 183. It's My Job

My job is to believe in you until you catch up. One thing I've noticed with many entrepreneurs, leaders, corporate climbers and stay at home moms (craving more), is that they have brilliant ideas and creative solutions to major life problems. However, the first thing that stands in your way when you're getting ready to chase a big audacious goal is YOU! Your inner bully seems to do as much work as possible to get you to resist what's in front of you, whether that's fear, discomfort and EVEN success.

In my community, my job is to help you see your intrinsic value and what you might be overlooking within you until you have a chance to.

  • 182. Present, Present, Present

Present. Is it a gift, an offering of your gift or the ability to show up and take ownership of your gifts?

That's a lot to think through as we unpack the contents of this episode. If you struggle with self-worth and an internal belief that you are enough, you are probably missing 1 of these three things from your practice.

  • 181. I'm Proud of You HAPPY THANKSGIVING

Happy Thanksgiving. I'm grateful for you. PERIOD.

Why do you think we need a day to remind us to show gratitude to the people we love and appreciate. Sometimes these holidays can feel so frustrating because we don't feel valued and loved regularly for the light that we share with others.

Today, I just want you to know that you're cherished and wanted in this world. Keep showing up and keep tearing off the negative tags that are holding you back.

  • 180. Practice Makes...

Preparing for Thanksgiving tomorrow, we must discuss the concept of practicing. A practice can be a habitual system in your life, like something you do everyday such as exercise. It can also be practicing passionately in order to gain more mastery at something. Three questions to ask yourself while listening to today's episode.

    1. What is a regular practice you have or want to have?

    2. How are you practicing or mastering it?

    3. What's stopping you from being consistent?

  • 179. #confidence | w Jackson Phillips-Andreen |

What is confidence and is there any way to measure it?!

As a child, I don't remember hearing the word confident and I don't remember learning about it in school. Although I do remember having some form of reference to confidence because I could recognize where I was deficient in comparison to others. My biggest memory of this was playing sports during my most formative years and constantly comparing my abilities and achievements to those who were "better" or "worse" than me.

Such an interesting perspective that our confidence can become rooted in being the "best" or "worst" at something. What if you fall in the middle? Does that mean that you're confidence is so-so?

Today, I ask my son questions about confidence and discuss what it means to be confident.

  • 178. Are You Running on Empty?

    Are you running on E?

    How do you define E?

    #empty, #energy, #everybody-elses-opinions-of-you?!?!

As I look back in my life, I can't help but recognize the seasons of my life where my self-worth was depleted. It may not have been a complete zero but it wasn't too far from it. The labels that cross my mind as I picture that woman are #stuck, #frustrated, #insecure, #broken, #abused and #lacking. Though I can now look back and see the good, positive traits outweighing the negative life labels, at the time it was almost impossible to see any intrinsic value.

It felt like an impossible task to gain a cadence or rhythm in my life while riding a broken bicycle. That bicycle being my broken belief system about myself. I would watch people speed past me with pumped up tires and enhanced mechanics. Meanwhile, my bike was pathetic, with flat tires and bent handle bars. Ha, have I painted a dramatic enough picture for you, like the cartoon bicycle that has wheels that aren't round?!

Today's episode we explore the idea that your self worth can be like a tank rather than a measuring stick. That you can be so depleted that you feel like you're running on fumes. We also explore the danger of staying in that state of mine or life and who might come alongside you and take advantage of your lack of self-worth.

In the episode, I refer to my dear friend and mentor John Stange who is a pastor, business leader, father, devoted husband and brilliant content creator. He has developed two amazing platforms through cadence and his desire to continue pedaling as he achieved and climbed the hills in his life. Those platform links are Desire Jesus and Platform Launchers.

On a scale of 0-10, how would you rate your self-worth today?

  • 177. My Self Worth is a Size ZERO

What does your internal self worth have to do with your external appearance? What does it have to do with your height, weight, pant size or skin color? NOTHING!

I know you're probably shocked to hear that but it's TRUE! I've spent the majority of my life looking at people from the inside, out. Wondering who they are before considering their external appearance. Today's episode explains what this show is REALLY about and how we should consider the size of our internal self-worth. If there was a measuring system of 0-10, what size would you say your self worth is?

I remember a distinct moment of my life where I was sitting watching my kids play in the kiddie zone at the town pool. As they were playing I noticed that each child, nobody what their shape may be, was a unique shape. Each had slightly different features that you could imagine would be similar as they grow into adulthood. However, none of the kids were focused on their size or shape. They were all playing, imagining and exploring.

If you're confused about the new show title, this episode will help you see what it's all about. I hope you are excited for what's to come next.

Please email me with feedback [email protected]

I'd love to know what you think of the new show title and the first couple of episodes. Also, please leave the show a review if you're really loving what you hear.

    Thanks!
