    hello dear Lucid Friends,

here’s another hour of of electronic listening pleasure for you and an interview with the guys from ARC – Charlie & Tetsu. Find out why they’d throw a party in space, on a deathstar… ;-)

    Interview:
    1. Lucidflow: How does a creative day look/feel like for you?
Tetsu – To be honest a good day coffee usually does the trick to get the day started. I like to try and pick up the tendrils of my dreams from the night before. Find some fleeting image or feeling to try and hold onto. Giving my work a disconnected energy. Like a part of me is off fighting in Demons in an altered reality lol. I live for the narrative of music. So if I can find a narrative close to home re: music, it can usually be inspired for me by a dream. :) ←-
Charlie – For me, I have long periods where I feel like i’m in a very good creative place, and then equally as long periods when I am formulating ideas in my head of music I feel like writing which represent personal experiences . But when I wake up each morning I know immediately if its a day for writing music or not. I’ll work solidly without stopping for a really long time if i’m in that special creative flow…I like to think it pays off at the end.

    2. Lucidflow: How do you hinder yourself / what keeps you from being creative?

Tetsu – Second guessing my work. I’m my own worse critic. I sit on mountains of tracks, which drives my partner mad. I’m a terrible procrastinator. I’m a terrible dreamer. But, Dream none the less.

Charlie- Over-thinking my music is what hinders me most. When i’m working on something I will often sleep on it and the next day find so much I want to change, and this goes on and on, although recently i’ve managed to get over that. Which i’ve found opens up a whole new world of creative opportunity, when one let’s go of over-thinking their creative projects..

    3. Lucidflow: how do you support yourself in being creative?

Tetsu -I run a company focused in Luxury Leather Accessories (Original Satchel Store) I set this up so I could focus on creative endeavours. I try and spend 6hrs a day listening to new music from around the world. New rhythm’s and Drums. I also try to keep my eye on the industry and seek out new collaborations with artists and promoters I respect. Just trying to keep the energy positive and focused helps me stay creative. Having Charlie working with me has been a blessing in keeping my focus and confidence. It’s a murky world music, nice to have someone help you see the light in it.

Charlie- I always find myself doing loads of different things, but over the past year or so i’ve been composing a lot of music, sound scapes, anything that I’m feeling at the time, recording them and using them for film and TV soundtracking. I really love it and it allows me to spend the time I want working with Tetsu both producing and exploring new music. Our different styles and backgrounds work in a way that means when we collaborate after working alone its so much fun. We’ll spend long periods of time locked in the studio learning from eachother. We tour for 5 months of the year, also playing residencies in the south of France, our favourite being Robinson’s in Canet, France, which is from June until September. So lots of new things on the way from us this summer..

    4. Lucidflow: How did you come across Lucidflow?

Tetsu – After hearing Nadja’s track “ Making a difference “ I looked into her back catalogue and also her label history. Wonderful rich and layered.

Charlie – I saw Nadja at one of the first Open parties in London a couple of years ago, she smashed it so I did the inevitable post- party research..

    5. Lucidflow: Tell us one of your greatest wishes:

Tetsu – To be able to support myself and loved ones by making and creating music which I can then share with whoever has an ear for it. It’s a fantastic feeling when the track “ clicks “, being able to dedicate my time to telling stories through music. That’s my greatest wish musically speaking.

Charlie – To be honest its pretty similar to Tetsu for me as well, I really love what we do, and I want to be at a point where I can do it every day. We work so well together so were always going to keep at it. Music is a perfect avenue for self expression, so I want to share those experiences all the time.

    6. Lucidflow: If you had an infinite amount of time and money what would you do?:

Tetsu – Take over the world and start again.

Charlie – Throw a party in space, on the deathstar that Tetsu built.

    7. Who is your personal hero and why?

Tetsu – I don’t have any Heroes. There’s just respect. I respect a great many people, those larger then life and then those quiet storms. Everyone has a story to tell if we just listen, everyone is there own hero and villain.

Charlie – I have musical heroes, like Jim Morrison and Miles Davis, but the word hero is subjective, good and bad is in the eye of the beholder..but Tetsu’s right, its about respect, so I would say I don’t have any heroes in life.

    8. Lucidflow: Anything else you’d like to spread to the Lucid world?

Tetsu / Charlie- Our latest release on LDNMint Records is out on Beatport and other outlets from the 18th of April. Also for more info on upcoming releases and the team behind Arc, visit www.arc777.com

  • The Lucid Podcast 084 Riccicomoto – Porn Fiction (Album Mix)

We’ve got a very special treat for you from our amazing artist Riccicomoto who crafted a dj set of his previously on Lucidflow released ‘Porn Fiction Album‘. So be prepared for over 1h 40min finest deepness by Enrico… Can it get any better?

Again we have an interesting interview with Riccicomoto for you:

    Interview:

    1. Lucidflow: How does a creative day look/feel like for you?
…9 AM in the morning, a good espresso and a little breakfast has to be done…than, with all the breakfast stuff and my espresso, I tumble on my terrace to enjoy the sun and watch birds flying by….after a while I enter the studio and do a little warm up by buidling some beats…than playing some parts with my yamaha organ and do some baselines…mostly after 30 minutes I know if it makes sence to work out something on that day…otherwise I leave the studio and drive to the beach…

    2. Lucidflow: How do you hinder yourself / what keeps you from being creative?

…spending to much time at the beach…;)
and with to many projects at once and with deadlines…I dont wanna procuce tracks like a factory and doing releases every week…I like to go with the flow and don’t like to be in a rush.

    3. Lucidflow: how do you support yourself in being creative?

…spending a lot of time at the beach…especially in the water…some sporty exercise every day…good food and having a nice time with friends…enjoying life and of course listening to good music…then often I get an impuls…drive to my studio and start playing & enjoying the rush of sounds that are flashing out of me…

    4. Lucidflow: How did you come across Lucidflow?

…my friend Helly Larson introduced me to Lucidflow…with who I later produced the „bronco del noche“ ep on Lucidflow…this was my first release on the label…

    5. Lucidflow: Tell us one of your greatest wishes:

…I would love to travel to space one time…get out oft the spacecraft just with a spacesuit & a lot of good music… flying in zero gravity & watch the earth….and try not to get totally crazy…

    6. Lucidflow: If you had an infinite amount of time and money what would you do?:

for myself: I would do this spacetrip and all other crazy things which I am not able to pay till now…
for others: share my infinite amount of money & time with everyone…cause it seems finally I got more than enough of it…so lets try to make something good with it…

    7. Who is your personal hero and why?

…my father…he did show me a lot of important & lovely things in life…thanx !

    8. Lucidflow: Anything else you’d like to spread to the Lucid world?

    …life is really beautiful…enjoy it !

    9. Lucidflow: Can you tell us a bit about your recently released album ‘Porn Fiction’?

I wanted to do an album of many different genres…because I’ve always been interested as a listener and as a producer into a high range of genres. I decided that the album should sound like an audio drama. A story in music with different phases like a movie. This album is more crafted for people who like to listen on a good hifi system at home rather than in a club. If u listen to this full album you maybe can imagine your own movie to the sound…!?

This release marks a new beginning for Berkovi, better known for his tougher Music Man, Force Inc, Djax and Harthouse releases over recent years. After haunting the b-side of one release too many, a reboot into a more beloved and emotional techno template is obviously reaping dividends. According to the man himself, this is no trend following phenomenon: “I’ve always produced deeper music, more often than not even years ago was always pushed to B sides of EPs or remixes but now it’s the main thing I want to do, techno with soul. After releasing a lot of more melodic material on labels such as eevonext and an album for Trapez a few years ago I want to return to solely concentrating on this style for my music and live sets”.
So here’s a new Berkovi live set with a preview on his upcoming EP Justin Berkovi – What will we become?’ in record stores mid March 2015 on!
Thank you, Justin, for your fantastic music. I’ve been telling you how much I love this whole ep… just played ‘Prelude’ again in Doha last weekend.

The Lucid Podcast 083 – Justin Berkovi Live

    Interview:

    1. Lucidflow: How does a creative day look/feel like for you?

Silence around me, no interruptions, a coffee to get me set and then the best for me is to totally immerse myself in sounds. With working in techno i think you can feel when you’re working on something that has a positive end point, you can feel the sound. I’ve always been into synthesis as well as beat programming so finding a sound that does something to me inside is important. If I’m not doing music I’m always creating – not a day goes by where I’m not either tweaking photographs, editing sounds, doing some graphic design or even drawing with pen / paper.

    2. Lucidflow: How do you hinder yourself in being creative?

I’m a terrible procrastinator and workaholic all in one. It sometimes takes me years to work out the simplest of things. For example for years I’ve always used Maschine as a live jamming tool but I’ve always wanted to actually produce an entire track on it which I finally did after a few years. I get distracted and bored easily and often the arranging of a track will prevent me from finishing it and then there’s like this backlog of creativity – I can’t move on to the next idea in my head. I’m getting better at managing that.

    3. Lucidflow: how do you support yourself in being creative?

Good question – financially or? I used to play live most weekends and run my labels many years ago and music was my full time career. But then I got involved in an internet start up and other projects and now have a family so it’s become something that I have to support from my other projects. But I’ve never stopped producing or playing or actually ‘creating’. My other work is design and strategy, it’s a completely creative environment and i’m still the master of my own destiny. I could never work for someone else.

    4. Lucidflow: How did you come across Lucidflow?

I’m not sure if it was the tracks or the podcast! I can’t remember! But it was the style of music and depth that got my interest.

    5. Lucidflow: Tell us one of your greatest wishes:

Being able to have more time, being calm.

    6. Lucidflow: If you had an infinite amount of time and money what would you do:

I wouldn’t change a great deal. I’d get a place by the sea, build a decent studio and spend more time with my kids. I’d probably travel more too.

    7. Lucidflow: Anything else you would spread to the Lucid world?

    Keep it deep.

Here’s a great podcast treat for you from Nur. Ready to get started? 3, 2, 1… PLAY!

    Interview:

    1. Lucidflow: How does a creative day look/feel like for you?
I usually feel the most creative at 6am, when everyone’s still asleep and I’m just waking up. There is a calm energy that gets me going.

    2. Lucidflow: How do you hinder yourself / what keeps you from being creative?

Partying too much the night before and the internet!! I really feel the need to be at peace with my body and mind to be able to create.

    3. Lucidflow: how do you support yourself in being creative?

By taking the time to make the right creating space comfortable. I realize that taking walks every now and then and watching other people is a great way to take a break before getting back to making music, it can be an inspiration somehow.

    4. Lucidflow: How did you come across Lucidflow?

I have been following Klartraum for years now!

    5. Lucidflow: Tell us one of your greatest wishes:

For the moment, it’s to compose music that people can dance to and pray to. To be able to combine the two and succeed in reaching people’s souls would be an absolute dream!

    6. Lucidflow: If you had an infinite amount of time and money what would you do?:

I guess I’m happy with the amount of time that has been written for me :) but money mmm well I guess travel the world and drench myself into the different cultures till the end of my time!

    7. Who is your personal hero and why?

I would say Levon Vincent. He is definitely a personal inspiration to me in so many ways.

    (N.)

    Interview:

    1. Lucidflow: How does a creative day look/feel like for you?
A creative day starts already in the night. It’s very important to me, that i get enough sleep and i don’t have to get up really early. I don’t like mornings :)
Also it’s important to have an extensive breakfast to gain energy. Overall i like it when i get stuff done like doing the dishes, wash my clothes, cleaning the house and so on. Only when i feel comfortable i feel good enough to be creative and set my mind free.
Also short breaks during the day are important. During the daily work i often don’t have much time for myself and that way i can recover my body and soul.
Also i need music nearly everywhere i am. Again and again i hear interesting mixes and tracks which might inspire me.

    2. Lucidflow: How do you hinder yourself / what keeps you from being creative?

The internet is sometimes a big obstacle. Sometime i forget the time and at the end of the day i ask myself: “what creative or useful things have i done today?” and feel bad afterwards.
Nicotine is relaxing indeed, but i realized, it makes me really lazy sometimes. That’s one good reason to quit :)
Sometimes i’m also a bit depressive and days are going by without doing something useful.

    3. Lucidflow: how do you support yourself in being creative?

A good thing is, that i can be really stubborn. That means, when i set something (feasible) in my mind, then i will do it, no matter what. That way it’s easy to follow deadlines and handle stuff i have to do.
Also the thought to make other people productive and creative with my own work pushes me.
Additional, the things that i mentioned in the first answer are very useful.

    4. Lucidflow: How did you come across Lucidflow?

As a Dub Techno fanatic and vinyl lover for many years, i bought Klartraum’s “Secret Moon Wax Edition” on Lucidflow back in 2013. I love the concept of “Kazantrip (Original)” – it’s something different than the usual Dub Techno stuff i buy and it works wonderful on partys.
In my hometown zurich i don’t often go to clubs, because it’s mostly the same music nearly everywhere and that gets boring.
I really like it unconventional, different, creative and innovative.
In another ambitious project called Comfortnoise Ploy we exactly do that – Something different, innovative, unconventional and creative.

    5. Lucidflow: Tell us one of your greatest wishes:

One huge wish of mine is releasing an own vinyl record. But that wish comes true this year!
With my buddy Rjega i created a three tracks EP to be released on the label Dimbideep in spring.

    6. Lucidflow: If you had an infinite amount of time and money what would you do?:

    Hmm, lets make a list:

    Stop working

Make music with my favourite artists
Build a big club with different floors
    Buy an island
    Build a race track
Buy a few race cars i ever wanted

Yeah, i think this would be the most important things i’d do with that.

    7. Who is your personal hero and why?

Everyone who supports me, without you guys this passion wouldn’t be what it is.

    8. Lucidflow: Anything else you’d like to spread to the Lucid world?

My dear friend and all time fav. producers/djs/live performer is back with a banging set on The Lucid Podcast. As one half of techno legends LFO as well as a solo artist G-Man responsible for some of the best music pieces in techno history.

Thank you, dear Gez for your ever amazing music, the projects we’ve worked on together and your kind words and support.

    Interview:

    1. Lucidflow: How does a creative day look/feel like for you?
It Just depends on the mood i am in.. normally I like to play around on my set up for a few hours everyday even if its just for fun.. sometimes I will record it and other times i wont .

    2. Lucidflow: How do you hinder yourself in / what keeps you from being creative?

Yeah its easy to get distracted when working from home… normally I switch the phone off and lock the door to my room….
Well if i have been out the night before and did not get much sleep then i find it really hard to work and if you have a hang over its virtually impossible.

    3. Lucidflow: How did you come across Lucidflow?

I first heard of Lucidflow from Nadja Lind as we were already friends for some time and also swapping remixes with each other … I really like the record label .Its really one of the best at the moment for deep house stuff.

    4. Lucidflow: Tell us one of your greatest wishes:

I wish for world peace but I really can see this happening for a few thousand years . I feel we still have a long way to go with evolution until we reach are true form as humans .

    5. Lucidflow: If you had an infinite amount of time and money what would you do?:

I would build and run music schools for poor kids to learn music and recording …and also any other types of media like film and television .I feel there is very little investment in this area at the moment from most countries

    6. Who is your personal hero and why?

Spartacus … as he lead an army of slaves against the mighty roman empire and almost defeated them.

    7. Lucidflow: Anything else you’d like to spread to the Lucid world?

We need more peace and understanding in the world .. maybe through our music we can send people in the right direction.

[Wikipedia] Skinner box: An operant conditioning chamber (also known as the Skinner box) is a laboratory apparatus used in the experimental analysis of behavior to study animal behavior. The operant conditioning chamber was created by B. F. Skinner while he was a graduate student at Harvard University (Masters in 1930 and doctorate in 1931). It may have been inspired by Jerzy Konorski’s studies. It is used to study both operant conditioning and classical conditioning.[1]
