  • The Lucid Podcast 067 Jamaica Suk

Another hour of excellent music is waiting for you to download. We have the pleasure of presenting a deep techno set by Jamaica Suk as well as a little

    interview:

    1. Lucidflow: How does a creative day look/feel like for you?

My creative days are the weekdays, i wake up, meditate, and head off to the studio after my morning to mid afternoon coffee. Some studio days are started really late in the day, this is the benefit of having a creative lifestyle and working when you feel inspired. :)

    2. Lucidflow: How do you hinder yourself in being creative?

Letting bills, paperwork, and emails drain my creative energy.

    3. Lucidflow: how do you support yourself in being creative?

Berlin has had a huge influence on me inspirationally and musically. I often go out, make new friends, hear new music and feed off of that inspiration. I am also constantly researching new artists and labels that push sonic boundaries with their music.

    4. Lucidflow: How did you come across Lucidflow?

I came across Lucidflow after meeting Nadja. :) I had heard about her duo Klartraum in the past and was very pleased to contribute a podcast to Lucidflow.

    5. Lucidflow: Tell us one of your greatest wishes:

I wish to travel more and make people dance!

    6. Lucidflow: Anything else you would spread to the Lucid world?

    Follow your heart.

  • The Lucid Podcast 066 Marcel Janovsky

066 – a lucky number Lucid Podcast today! And after many amazing deep and slow dub sessions today Marcel Janovsky from Cologne has something different for you on the plates. I personally have been loving his Treibstoff Recordings label and productions since I started collecting vinyl. Put your dancing shoes on and press start! :)

Thank you Marcel for your Lucid Podcast contribution and for answering my little interview:

    1. Lucidflow: How does a creative day look/feel like for you?

I need to feel free so that i can do what i want without any limits.

    2. Lucidflow: How do you hinder yourself in being creative?

Sometimes i need to sort things out (stuff in my office, my studio, my computer) to clean my head and sometimes i lose the point then about what i acctually wanted to do.

    3. Lucidflow: how do you support yourself in being creative?

Tricky question! I have no formula that works properly. A good day starts with a good morning.

    4. Lucidflow: How did you come across Lucidflow?

    Nadja came across me :-)

    5. Lucidflow: Tell us one of your greatest wishes:

A future as good as my past has been up to now. I am a lucky bastard.

    6. Lucidflow: If you had an infinite amount of time and money what would you do:

I´d try to make the best out of it.

    7. Lucidflow: Anything else you would want to spread to the Lucid world?

Since the last couple of month i realised that sometimes you should lay back and be happy with what you have, the people you know and the love you get. Seeking for „more and bigger“ is not the way. Some weeks ago i had a conversation with a guy in a club who knows me from Djing (he is also a producer). He asked me why i do not produce more so that i can get more gigs and travel the world. I told him i am a DJ and not a producer, i´ve played a lot all over the world already and i don´t need to put myself on fire, doing tracks and studiowork just to get international gigs. I am very happy to play a lot in my hometown where i have many fans, super crowds, my residency, my own partys and my family is here. This already makes me very happy.

  • The Lucid Podcast 063 Brickman Live

Lucid Podcast weekend again… with a great dubby live performance by lucid artist Brickamn! Let the music play :-)

    interview:

    1. Lucidflow: How does a creative day look/feel like for you?

Can’t say that I have some scheme of my creative day or creative process, it’s always different: one day I can sit hours in studio and get nothing good, but other day I can do something in half an hour. Unfortunately, I still didn’t understand how to get more this creative days instead of useless studio days.

    2. Lucidflow: How do you hinder yourself in being creative?

Well, sometimes I’m being too lazy. After workday I can just come home and do nothing instead of making music or do something useful. Also I make a lot of sketches, which sounds good for me, but I never finish them, so that’s a problem too, I think.

    3. Lucidflow: how do you support yourself in being creative?

The main thing is to get some new impressions from anything. You can go for a walk, read some books or articles, listen to some new music (especially other than you produce genres). Also I like to discover some new production techniques or test new hardware/software instruments. That results in getting new sounds on the go, while I learn to use new gear.

    4. Lucidflow: How did you come across Lucidflow?

I came across Lucidflow in 2010, and since that time Lucidflow has been one of my favorite labels.

    5. Lucidflow: Tell us one of your greatest wishes:

I just want to spent most of my time on music, not on my job or daily routine.

    6. Lucidflow: If you had an infinite amount of time and money what would you do:

Well, that’s quite hard to decide. May be procrastinate all the time, maybe make some music in my new super-expensive studio or maybe travel and try some new things. Maybe everything.

    7. Lucidflow: Anything else you would spread to the Lucid world?

Just relax, love each other and don’t do stupid things.

  • The Lucid Podcast 062 Toby Dreher

We are happy to present a great dub set by Toby Dreher who has been pleasing our ears for many years on countless occations in and around Berlin and abroad. Toby rocks!

    interview:

    1. Lucidflow: How does a creative day look/feel like for you?

Coffee, work-out and just start. Having fun, taking things easy and being confident and trusting myself and my creative outcome.

    2. Lucidflow: How do you hinder yourself in being creative?

Mainly it’s influences from outside rather than myself that hinders my creativity. Things like time pressure or expactations from others. What helps me to sweep away these bad vibes is having fun and listening to my inner voice to trusting in what I am doing.

    3. Lucidflow: how do you support yourself in being creative?

Lots of reading in the first place and reflecting on myself but at the same time also not thinking too much about myself and just being active instead and get things done. Or I just get some inspiration on this web-site :) http://stoney.sb.org/eno/oblique.html

    4. Lucidflow: How did you come across Lucidflow?

    Through Nadja.

    5. Lucidflow: Tell us one of your greatest wishes:

I want to constantly develop and evolve myself in a way which is in my opinon appropriate for me and my environment. In short: I want to move on and don’t get stuck. This is what keeps me happy.

    6. Lucidflow: If you had an infinite amount of time and money what would you do:

A house near the Baltic Sea. Wife, studio, cows, cats, etc.

    7. Lucidflow: Anything else you would spread to the Lucid world?

Treat your environment just the same way as you would like to be treated.

  • The Lucid Podcast 060 Red Pig Flower

This great Lucid Podcast is presented to you by Red Pig Flower. I had the great pleasure meeting and playing with her in London some weeks ago and dancing my ass off to her set. Enjoy :)

    1. Lucidflow: How does a creative day look/feel like for you?

    – For me, I just have typical vampire lifestyle, go to bed in the morning and wake up mid of mid of afternoon, so time management is super important for me, I try to do at least 1 thing I love to do, and 1 thing I have to do per day, for example combination of “making track” and “making promotion” , or “go to yoga” and “go to meeting” etc, if I complete 2 of them per day, it is kind of ok creative day for me, sometime I do “what I love to do” more , sometime I do “What I have to do” more, but I just try to balance myself as being an artist and being a grown up.

    2. Lucidflow: How do you hinder yourself in being creative?

-when I physically ill, my creativities goes down, that’s why I try to make time for exercise and doing yoga frequently, try to be healthy and try to stay positive, or sometime when I mentally just too exaust, try to meet someone I love, and do something creative together, sometime good to have someone pushing and supporting you next me.

    3. Lucidflow: how do you support yourself in being creative?

As I mentioned before, just try to do not get ill (if you lose your health, you lose everything I believe so), and do not forget why I am doing this, sometime when you push urself too much, you forget what was your main will, I just try to do not forget, ur art work come first and the rest will be followed.

    4. Lucidflow: How did you come across Lucidflow?

About couple of years ago, I saw Nadja’s liveset, she had very interesting sound and I found out it is all of her production, or her own labels music (Lucidflow) from that time one I became a follower of the label.

    5. Lucidflow: Tell us one of your greatest wishes:

As an artist, I try to build up my own world, in any format, weather sounds, visuals, or notional world, you born to create something in the world, then you do not want your babies just going to be forgotten after you die, hope in my life, I can create some flow than follow some flows, and live life without shame.

    6. Lucidflow: If you had an infinite amount of time and money what would you do:

If I had? and infinity amount? the concept of infinity is very strong, if I had INFINITY time and money, of course, i want to buy all the army all over the world, and delete and erase any weapon, army system and bomb etc bullshits in the world, no war, no killing, more education for everyone, try to clean up earth as much as possible, etc, but, (to make something easy) if I have a bit more money and time than now,,,,I would love to have enough space for my canvas, art works, and want to change my speaker…lol

    7. Lucidflow: Anything else you would spread to the Lucid world?

All the artists who released on Lucidflow, I think they all great, good to know this label and keep following the sounds, also if someone can check out “http://redpigflower.com/” to see the other activities of mine, would be cool, hope I can see some of the people who reading this in near future, and make creative things together.
