  • Taxi plate expires after husband’s death - listener experience

Yesterday, we asked: do you struggle to get a taxi in your area?

We got lots of responses to this question from people up and down the country, but one stuck out to us.

A woman has messaged the show to say she was in a position whereby she inherited her late husband's taxi plate, however, she did not fill out a form within 9 months of his passing due to the shock and heartbreak she was feeling and then his taxi was declared invalid by NTA.

Anne joins Andrea to share her story…

  • Are rule changes making GAA better?

This week Mayo will face Kerry in the All-Ireland final.

This season there were some new rules brought into the game, some of the more notable ones were the 2 point score outside the 40 metre arc, at all times during play, each team must have four players in their defensive half and three players in their attacking half, and the opening throw in is now strictly 1v1.

What do you think of the new rules? Have they made the game more exciting, or should we stick to the basics?

Andrea is joined by listeners to discuss.

  • How concerned are residents about the Slievenamon fires?

Firefighting crews have remained on site at Slievenamon in County Tipperary on Wednesday following continued operations overnight from Tuesday – as the fire which started on Monday morning has now spread into an adjacent Coillte forest.

While there are no immediate risks to residents, the spread of these wildfires is concerning to those living in the area, as they do not know what is next to come.

Andrea is joined by local residents to get their thoughts.

Do you dread going to the beach or going for a swim because you’re worried about what you look like in a bikini or a swimsuit?

Many of us will feel uncomfortable and nervous stripping down to a two piece, but how do we get better at being brave and embracing our ‘bikini bodies’?

Joining Andrea to discuss is Grace Mongey, aka Faces By Grace, Riona O’Connor, actor, comedian and creator and Dr Malie Coyne, Chartered Clinical Psychologist and author.

  • Should we implement an outdoor smoking ban similar to Spain’s?

Spain plans to ban smoking on outdoor bar and restaurant terraces while extending smoke-free areas and regulating vaping products in ‌the same way as conventional cigarettes.

European countries such as Britain and France are increasingly tightening tobacco and vaping rules, framing smoking as both a public-health threat and a drain on state health budgets and productivity.

But should we follow suit and extend our outdoor smoking ban?

Andrea is joined by listeners to discuss.
