The alt-metal singer-songwriter chats about paring down the scale of HEADSPLIT in order to build up to her next big project. Doing so, however, had a sort of freeing effect, allowing her to experiment with both her sound and lyrics. As part of the new process, Lindemann looked to artists both established and up-and-coming. She mentions working with Siiickbrain, reckoning with the new generation coming up behind her, and looking towards Gwen Stefani and Evanescence's Amy Lee for career guidance.
