In this recent Golden Globes ceremony, another small minded comedian decided to speak his thoughts on the movie that has created a movement for female empowerment.

My analysis and reaction to Britney Spears’ memoir, The Woman In Me. In the second part Danielle breaks down the boy drama in Britney’s life. Dating as a woman in a misogynistic world is hard enough, let alone being one of the most iconic women in the world. Before her fame, Spears is a daughter to a narcissistic, abusive father, and like other girls, we date men who treat us the way our families do. Throughout the book, Britney speaks on her aspirations of love and being a mom. Celebrities are not invincible, we’re only human. Britney is a woman who was raised by an abusive father and a neglectful family while being used for her fame by men who recite ‘i love you’.

Britney’s dating life is held under a microscope her entire relationship with Justin Timberlake, and somehow she still managed to keep her pregnancy and abortion a secret. As women, we know we’re deemed as being too sensitive, naive, slutty, needy, etc. the list goes on and on, and being a pop star is no exception.

The finale in the three-part series analysis of Britney Spears’ memoir, The Woman In Me, ending off with how the media made her out to be crazy, and then the world blamed her for it.

Patterns in Britney’s childhood in growing up in a narcissistic abusive household are being repeated in her adult years, and her memoir mentions when these wounds resurface. As someone who is also in therapy from narcissistic parenting, recognizing why we are made to feel ‘bad’ is a huge indicator of childhood trauma that needs self love. Through becoming a mother herself, Britney acknowledges this in her children. The same way Britney held onto hope all these years, you can too.
