In today’s episode, I had the opportunity to interview Cherish Muzik. Cherish is the creator of an online school for healing and energy work, and she's currently a yoga therapist in training with Inner Peace Yoga Therapy. She shared her story of growing up bi-racial in the US, and discussed the the long-term physiological effects of colonialism on Black Americans. For the Black body person, this means they are constantly experiencing some level of fear and trauma on a continuous basis. She wrote a paper on Managing Race-based Trauma with Therapeutic Yoga and she shared some of her findings from that work in the podcast.
