Grains close mixed Friday with livestock mostly higher. Tommy Grisafi with Nesvick Trading Company says the grain markets saw light holiday trade and rebalancing of portfolios end of year and watching outside markets and money flow. Corn saw follow through buying and made new 6 month highs, closing a second day above the 200 day moving average. Wheat followed with short covering and strong weekly exports. Soybeans saw profit taking and maybe some farmer selling. Cattle also closed strong with higher cutouts and cash at $192 in the South. He also discusses where the money will go to start a new year.
