Wisconsin native Paul Bianchi got a fresh start at the brand-new Division I program at Little Rock. A past NCAA qualifier at North Dakota State, Bianchi’s first season after transferring has been modestly successful. On Episode 3 of Forward, hosts Scott Kluever and Kevin Black talk to Bianchi about growing up wrestling in Wisconsin, the culture of wrestling in Arkansas and what it’s like to be on a team again with his younger brother Joey, who is redshirting this season in Little Rock.

Kevin and Scott then look at the Wisconsin team sectional results and look ahead to the upcoming high school action.

Coach Ersland recaps dual season, win over Illinois – AA18

On this week's Always Aggressive Podcast, Purdue head coach Tony Ersland and friends discuss wrapping up the Big Ten Dual season with a road win at Illinois, despite having a short-handed lineup to close out with a 12-5 overall dual record and a 5-4 mark in the Big Ten, Purdue's first winning conference record since 2013. The Boilermakers took 6-of-10 weights against the Fighting Illini, including ranked upsets at 141 and 184 pounds. 

They also discuss the tenants of training in the lead-up to Championship season and a busy recruiting weekend when the coaching staff will be splitting time between the IHSA State Championships in Champaign and the IHSAA State Championships in Indianapolis. Ersland dives into some of the qualities he looks for in Boilermaker recruits, and they wish some good luck to a pair of future Purdue wrestlers who take the mat as a high school competitor for the final time this weekend.

A trip to Totino-Grace High School in Fridley had one goal in mind, profile the private Catholic school and its accomplished wrestling program. What happened was what makes sports great - kids doing great things to create great results. Totino-Grace wouldn’t hoist the Section 5AA trophy on Saturday, it’d be a group of kids from Orono who came into the sectional tournament with a 6-12 dual record.

Coach Joe McPherson’s Orono Spartans upended Totino-Grace to reach the team state tournament for the first time in school history.

James Nicholson, a two-time All-American and recent inductee into the ODU Sports Hall of Fame, joins the ODU Wrestling Monarch Matcast on Episode 71.

Nicholson, a Des Moines, Iowa native, came to Old Dominion as one of coach Steve Martin's first major out-of-state recruits. A finalist at the USA Wrestling Junior Freestyle national championships and an Iowa State champion, Nicholson had quite the adjustment to college wrestling.
