In today’s episode Matt interviews Pilates teacher and educator Adam Mcatee. Adam is a classically trained teacher with an exercise science background and is currently in the final stages of his physiotherapy degree. This blend of being an educator and a constant learner means Adam has an evidence based/critical thinking approach to his teaching and learning.
The conversation centres around motor learning and the use of language and the power it holds in our teaching and our own experience of movement. The pair discuss internal versus external cues, what each means and the power of positive reinforcement (Adam provides plenty of research articles to support his experience).
