Kate and Nancy discuss a research paper that documented wound healing rates in 127 cases/horses. MGH was used in 69 cases. The control group consisted of 58 cases (MGH was not used). All wounds were cleaned with diluted with clorhexidine or diluted provodone iodine and then sutured. The MGH treated wounds were sutured after the MGH was applied or small openings at the top and bottom of the wounds were left open so MGH could be inserted at the top, above the sutures.
