Mel’s Mindful Moments S1-E41
Have you ever really thought about how limited our time is on the earth?
Luckily for us, science and technology are continually finding new ways to extend our lifespan.
But even so, our time is but a breath compared to the expanse of time.
Since there is not much that can be done about the fact that our lives have limits, we do have some control over what time we do have.
Wouldn’t you want to see how much you can accomplish while you’re still here?
Can you list 5 or more things that you would want to do before you die? What about 3 things?
Even if you can only think of 1 thing, - Have you made any plans to make it happen?
When was the last time you set a goal for yourself? How did it go for you?
Goal setting can ensure that we maximize our time and at least achieve some of the things we want to do. So what, if you can only achieve 2 out of the 5, or even one for that matter.
At least we achieved something. But we can’t expect to achieve anything, if we don’t set goals and make them happen.
If you haven’t formed a habit of goal setting, then I suggest that you start with small goals.
This will give you confidence and a bit of motivation, that will help you when you tackle larger goals. Then when you do start working on larger goals, break them down into smaller ones.
Once you’ve targeted why and what it is you want to achieve, now it’s just a matter of making your goal plan and get to work. And remember when setting goals, make sure to break them down into steps, or miniature goals, that you can easily manage and not become overwhelmed by them.
And when you do finally achieve your goal, don’t forget to celebrate!
