Today’s guest is educator and poet Meredith Heller. Meredith has a unique story of leaving home at the age of 13 because she was so disenchanted with society and the schooling system. She built homes in the woods along the Potomac River and spent time with other artists, musicians, and outcasts who all felt like they didn’t fit into society’s expected norms. Always creative, she began writing poetry even at her lowest points. She considers it a gift and went on to graduate school including attending Naropa University. She is the author of several books of poetry and continues to teach workshops nationally for teens and adults. Info: meredithheller.com
